Just want to flag this Omicron Track and Trace scam going around. Lucky for me, I didn’t click on any weird links. Thankfully, I also don’t know anyone who's caught Covid yet.

I clicked on the link and ended up on the NGINX SAMPLE SERVER page. There was absolutely no reference to the NHS there at all. When I checked the NHS site, it simply stated that the service is currently unavailable. Just a heads up, as of Thursday, 24th February 2022, NHS Test and Trace has ceased tracking the contacts of individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19.

Got a call claiming to be from NHS Track and Trace saying I’d been near someone who tested positive and needed to book a PCR test through a link they sent. The link seemed pretty official at first glance, but things felt off when they wanted £1.28 for postage of the test kit. I didn’t fancy handing over my personal or bank info so I wisely ignored it, reported the number to 7726 and then deleted the message. Felt dodgy from the start!

However, this notification didn’t come through the NHS channels, so it's obviously a dodgy scheme. I refrained from clicking any links, but I reckon they're just after your money, wanting you to pay online for a PCR test that you can actually get for free. It’s worth noting that you only need to book a PCR if your LFT result is positive, which is yet another indicator that this is all a ruse.
