Got a text supposedly from Barclays saying my card was used on 05/11/25 for £974.98 at SHEIN and that they’ve blocked it. It told me to reply Y if I knew about it or phone them straight away on 0330 043 8726. Definitely a scam, don’t fall for it! Barclays would never text like that or demand an immediate call about something like this. Just ignore and block the number.

Got a call from this number claiming to be Lloyds Bank, saying I’d set up a new payee on my account. Problem is, I’ve never banked with Lloyds in my life. Definitely a dodgy scam trying to trick people.

Problem is, I don’t hold a big balance anywhere near that, and even more confusing - I’m not a Santander customer at all! Really fishy if you ask me. 🙄

Got a message with a dodgy link trying to scam me, so I reported it to Action Fraud. Honestly, it was pretty straightforward. Just head over to police.uk and find the Action Fraud section. From there, go to the part about reporting phishing scams. Scroll down past all the info on how they handle scams, and you’ll find the actual form to fill in. When you report a fraud attempt like this, they don’t ask for any personal details, which is a bonus. It feels good knowing you’re putting it straight to the police database.

Got a message from this number saying it’s from Track and Trace and that I’d been near someone isolating. I’ve been shielding except for a hospital visit a couple of weeks back! It said for “my safety” I should buy an omicron PCR test through a link they sent. I’m definitely not clicking on that link, feels dodgy to me and I don’t trust messages like this anyway.

I got a text saying I'd been near someone self-isolating and that I needed to order a test kit through a link they provided. Thing is, I know everyone I've been around lately so it seemed a bit odd. Before clicking anything, I checked this site to see if it was legit. Looks like the link actually tries to get you to pay for the tests and probably steals your card info. Better to be safe than sorry!

It included a dodgy link that looked fishy, telling me to visit some site if it wasn’t me. Pretty sure it’s a scam trying to trick people. What I did: ignored it, blocked the sender, and deleted the message straight away. Definitely don’t click on any links like that!
