Got a message from this number claiming to be the Halifax, saying if I didn’t click a link, they’d send a payment to someone at 12:30. The text arrived around 1:30, and I’m not even a Halifax customer. After looking up the number online, it came up as linked to China. When I called back, it just went straight to an EE voicemail. Sounds dodgy to me.

Got a message claiming to be from Halifax about a payment made to H Kamil on the 12th October at 12.29. It said if I didn’t authorise it, I should cancel the instruction right away. There was a link attached but I didn’t touch it. Instead, I reported it directly to Halifax since they apparently have a way to verify these things.
