I got a message from this number, and I can say without a doubt that it's a scam. I strongly suggest blocking it. The text claimed to be from HSBC, stating something along the lines of "A New Payee request has been initiated from an unfamiliar device." It then provided a link for the recipient to either "Authorize or Cancel" this request. Clearly, one shouldn't do either of those things. If you have any worries, it's far better to ring the bank using their official phone number instead.

I received a rather dodgy text that read: “Your recent O2 payment has failed to go through with your bank, kindly update your payment details via (link omitted for safety).” The thing is, I’m not even with O2, so I immediately suspected it was a con. A quick search on the number popped up that it’s linked to a personal account. Just a heads up, steer clear of this! Definitely a scam attempt.
