Over the past few weeks, I've been getting multiple calls and messages from this number. The scammer seems to switch up their tactics quite a lot. The texts have mentioned stuff like council tax refunds, TV licence, Vivastreet, AdultWork and escort sites. They all look like phishing attempts to me. Definitely block this number!!

SCAM ALERT! On Saturday 16/3/16 I got a text saying "you are entitled to a refund from your Council, click our secure site to start the process". At first I was a bit unsure since I had recently spoken to a local Councillor regarding this matter. However, I got suspicious and double-checked the number. Turns out, it wasn’t from him at all. If you get dodgy text messages trying to phish info like the ones from this number, it’s best to let the ICO know, as well as your phone company - you can normally just forward the text to 7726. Also, report it to the company they're pretending to be and the spammer’s network provider (looks like EE here). And if you do end up getting caught out by one of these scams, be sure to get in touch with Action Fraud straight away.
