Honestly, I think this is some kind of scam. I sent a message back telling them that if they keep texting me, I'll have no choice but to report it to the police for harassment.

Got a text from someone calling themselves the NEWMARKET SPY, says they’re a famous horse racing tipster. They’re offering free winner tips for the GLORIOUS GOODWOOD event starting tomorrow, promising five days of profits. Seems a bit too good to be true but they said just reply with FREE if interested. Not sure if it’s legit or just a cheeky promo.

Heads up - got a text from this number that went straight into my junk messages. After checking it out, it seems it’s still going around, sending to mobiles pretending to be a “FAMOUS Horseracing expert offering free tips”. Pretty obvious it’s just trying to scam people into handing over their banking or personal info. The bad spelling is a giveaway, probably to trick the less sharp. Watch out!

I got a text saying they'd give free tips on horse racing if I replied. Pretty sure it’s a scam though, and thankfully it got sent straight to my spam folder.

Got a text from someone calling themselves 'NEWMARKET SPY', claiming to be a famous horse racing tipster. They said I could get free tips for the upcoming Glorious Goodwood event starting tomorrow, promising five days of guaranteed winnings. The message even told me to reply with 'FREE' if I was interested. Felt a bit dodgy to me, not sure if I should trust it.

Ended up stuck with a couple of phone contracts I never wanted and a massive bill to deal with. If they think that’s the end of it, they’re in for a surprise - I’m sorting a camera team to catch them. Will update here when they show up on TV, so keep an eye out.

Watch out for this company Get Connected, they appear to be based in Wales! They’re faking being O2. You should definitely report them to Action Fraud or your local cops.

Just got a message claiming I’m eligible for a phone upgrade, asking me to reply ‘yes’ for more info. I’m only on a SIM-only plan, so it’s definitely dodgy. Blocked the number and reported it straight away!

As soon as I got the text about being eligible for an upgrade and told to text YES back, I could tell it was suspicious - probably a scam. I just worry some folks might fall for it though.

Got an email claiming I was eligible for an upgrade, which was odd since I’ve never signed up for any contract with them. Total scam! It’s crazy how many folks might actually fall for this stuff. They really ought to face some consequences for using personal info like that. It’s just not right.

Just received a message on this number saying "Hi (my name), your upgrade is ready! Reply YES to see what phones and discounts you get." I have no idea how they even knew my name or phone number. My name’s pretty uncommon and my mum came up with a unique spelling, so seeing it spelled correctly in a text like that really freaked me out.

Same story here. Got a text saying I qualify for an upgrade, but I knew instantly it was a con since I’m not even eligible. It really gets on my nerves how every single day there’s some call, message or email from someone just trying to trick you. It never stops.

You gotta watch out for Lisa Murray Degisi, she’s involved in loads of scams. She’s infamous for it. If you check her out on Facebook, you’ll see her massive house and flashy cars - none of which come from an honest job. Hey (Company Name), it’s time for your upgrade! Reply YES to see what deals and phones you can get. Yeah, right! Loads of red flags like: 1. No mention of which network you’re on or any customer ID 2. No website link to check properly 3. The number’s sketchy, 07507319810 isn’t from known networks like O2, Vodafone or Three. Total nonsense.

I received a rather dubious call purporting to be from my mobile provider, claiming they had an upgrade for me. However, it struck me as odd that they’d reach out from what appears to be an unrecognised number. It's surely a scam, possibly a sign of sheer desperation on their part. It feels like a low-level criminal racket, and judging by the feedback from others, it’s not exactly run by professionals. I've promptly blocked the number through my phone settings and set it up to be filtered out permanently.
