Got a call from someone saying they were from an investigation firm looking into a crypto account supposedly linked to me. They claimed my identity might’ve been stolen and that someone set up that account fraudulently. The caller asked if I could spare about 20 minutes and if I had a phone, laptop or internet access handy. I ended up reporting it to the UK fraud helpline online and turns out it’s a classic scam. The advice given was just to ask what company they’re with and then hang up straight away. If it’s legit, you should follow up with the proper local police instead.

I got a call from a bloke with a foreign accent who claimed I had a frozen Bitcoin account that’s now worth ‘X’ amount. He said his name was Brian. When I asked which company he was from, he just said it was a system and when I pressed for the name, he said "Blockchain". Something felt off, looks like a scam trying to fish for my personal details. Weirdly, he even had an old email address of mine.
