Some bloke named Jared from Marshall Jones rang me. This call is totally dodgy and he was saying companies aren’t allowed to do this. Someone should report them properly and get them shut down for good.

Avoid picking up calls from this number, it's definitely a scam. If you have to call back, make sure you dial 141 first to hide your number (number removed). Honestly, calling it won’t do much - you'll probably just hear an automated message stating the number isn’t active. I’ve worked in telecom before, so I recognise this trick: they redirect the call to a group that has no one answering. Whatever you do, never share any banking info with them. And if they demand a PIN or password, just give them this - P155. Off.

Makes me think back to ages ago when I first heard about phone scams and joked with some mates about having the phone book on a CD with some software that dialled all the numbers. If someone set it up as a business line, then if you called back out of curiosity, you’d get charged like £1.50 per call. Loads of people probably fall for that! It might be some lunatic cos the number apparently doesnt show up on any directory. Plus theres this odd american sounding computer voice leaving a message, its really creepy like. I kept getting calls all day, morning, lunch and evening, and figured it was for my company. I only pick up if they leave a voicemail though.
