Crikey, it’s been a good five months since I last mentioned this saga. The incessant calls just keep coming my way! Just today alone, I’ve been bombarded with five phone calls and a text, and it’s barely past six-thirty in the evening. I dread to think how many more might land in my inbox before the night’s out. It appears they’ve somehow tied my number to some bloke I’ve never heard of, who apparently owes a tidy sum to the council over in RM9. They’ve been so kind as to share his details with me, which feels rather dodgy if you ask me. I’d rather not have to reveal my information to get my number sorted out, especially considering their shoddy approach to data privacy.

For more than half a year now, Newlyn have been constantly bothering me. They somehow got my phone number from the council and keep calling about a council debt for some bloke they named. I've told them straight away it’s the wrong number, but they just keep ringin’ me up. I’m not giving them any of my info to take me off their list, cos they don’t handle data properly. These calls come as many as four times a day and often at terrible hours. I’ve also had loads of intimidating texts, yet no proper letters since, obviously, they’re contacting the wrong person!

This number has been blowing up my 11 year old daughter's phone non stop. Honestly, she’s way too young to owe anyone money, so it’s pretty sketchy. This sounds really dodgy to me. I don’t have any debts, so there’s no reason for them or any firm like that to be ringing me up. I’m pretty certain Newlyn is a real company, but this has all the signs of a con artist pretending to be them to scam money from innocent people. The calls only come through on my pay as you go mobile, which makes me even more wary. A legit debt collector would send a letter before resorting to phone calls. My tip? Had loads of calls from this number over the years and honestly, I know this firm all too well now. The people on the phone can be pretty rude, and it’s the same if they come knocking at your door. They even try pushing past you if you open it just a crack. They don’t seem to mind bothering women on their own or elderly folks either. I’ve put them straight on my block list now. If I need to get in touch I’ll ring them myself. They can’t legally just barge in, so don’t let their silly threats bother you. Just carry on with your day.
