Received a call earlier today from someone inquiring if I was the proprietor of a computer. I responded by asking which computer they were referring to, and then the caller abruptly ended the call. The individual speaking had an accent resembling that of a Chinese or, perhaps, a Bruce Lee impersonation.

This number seems connected to some other annoying number 01202755659 (Bourne-mouth). Had a laugh this morning with ‘Microsoft team’ - they called back as promised on the 07478 number above but I told them I still couldn’t find my glasses. This morning, we received a phone call on our landline, however, the connection was very poor and full of static. It is quite frustrating to receive such calls, especially since we have taken measures to keep our number private by being ex-directory and registering with TPS.

Some bloke said he was from Microsoft, saying there was malware on my PC. I told him I was driving down a dual carriageway and had stopped in a layby, so I couldn’t check my computer right then. He then asked if he could ring me back later. After that, I mentioned he had the wrong name for me, and then he just gave up.

Just like many others, I was targeted by a supposed Microsoft engineer who claimed there was an issue with my computer and insisted I turn it on. Recognizing this as a scam, I decided to stay on the phone and pretended that my computer simply wouldn't start up. As a ruse, I expressed concern that hackers might have already gained access to my system. The scammer eventually caught on to my game and grew increasingly aggressive before abruptly ending the call. Unfortunately, even though I have previously blocked their numbers, these calls continue to plague me with different ones each time.

At 9am, I received a call on my home phone from an individual who claimed to be a MICRO ENGINEER from the eastern region. He insisted that hackers had been trying to gain access to my laptop and asserted that he possessed a 32-digit security code unique to me. This guy named Jason called me, sounded like he wasn’t from the UK. Claimed he was from Microsoft. I told him thanks but no thanks and ended the call. Then he phoned straight back asking why I’d cut him off and insisted I had to hear him out. I told him no way, and that my number's on the do not call list, so he really shouldn’t be bothering me.

Someone phoned my landline but nobody answered when I picked up. I tried ringing them back but it just kept ringing and no voicemail to leave a message.

She claimed to be from Microsoft Windows Security, but spoke with a strange accent and the line was really bad, like from a dodgy call centre. I told them I didn’t trust it and asked them not to call again, then hung up. Got a similar call a few months back, can't say if it was the same number though. They were trying to get me to change something on my PC, but I work in IT, so I knew straight away it was a scam.
