Got a call from someone with a thick Indian accent, making jokes and chuckling, saying I’d been in an accident! Total SCAM for sure! Blocked right away!

Got a call from this number twice today, they said they were some kind of legal firm, called themselves “legal brothers” or something daft like that. The bloke on the phone had a strong Indian accent which honestly felt like it was put on. They started asking if I’d been in any accidents. I played along for a bit just for a laugh but then lost interest pretty quickly, ended the call and blocked the number. Haven’t checked if they tried to charge me for the call yet, fingers crossed they didn’t.

Today I got rung up two times by this number, these lads said they were solicitors, something like “legal brothers” or whatever. The name sounded proper made up and the bloke had this thick Indian accent that didn’t sound real at all. They started asking if I’d had any accidents or something. I played along for a bit just to see where it was going but got fed up after a minute and just cut the call off and blocked the number. Still haven’t looked to see if they charged me for the calls, fingers crossed they didn’t.

After the first call, I politely requested to be taken off their calling list. The second call came, so I asked again nicely. By the third call, I asked to speak to a supervisor and they just hung up on me. On the fourth time, I got a bit annoyed and told them firmly to quit ringing me. The fifth call, I warned them I’d report them to the police if they didn’t stop bugging me.

These folks aren't actually lawyers. Real lawyers aren't permitted to cold call like this. They earn cash by asking about things like accidents, PPI, or bank accounts you probably don't have. If you say yes, they just sell your details to some claims firm (not genuine solicitors, who legally can't pay for injury claims anyway). If you ignore the call but ring back, they charge you 10p per minute. That's how they rip you off, and the solicitors end up taking all the flack.

Got a call from this number earlier. The guy said he was with the claims team and asked how I was doing, which was a bit odd but polite. Then he mentioned something about a no-fault accident I supposedly had last year. I told him I hadn’t (even though I actually did), and he just ended the call. Now it’s another blocked number for my list, tagged as “annoying caller.”

Picked up the phone and it cut off straight away. Seems like one of those dodgy scams trying to get you to ring back on some expensive number? I’m on the no call list but it doesn’t do any good. Just use the Avast app on your phone and block the number.
