Got a call from someone claiming there was a dodgy purchase on my Amazon account - apparently an iPhone bought by some Robert Williams, not me. Luckily I hung up when they started asking for personal info. Told them I’d ring Amazon directly instead. They said it can’t be done that way, but I just said nah, I’ll take my chances and sort it out myself.

Every scam try needs to be reported straight to the cyber crime unit created to make it super easy for everyone to report any dodgy phone calls, texts, emails or other scams. When I told my MP about how many scam calls I kept getting, they told me to do exactly that. You can find info on how to report right here on this thread below. Scammers really want to keep this quiet. If you never report them, nothing will be done to put a stop to their rubbish.

Really pushy bloke, kept ringing about some car crash. First he said it was a Mercedes, then changed it to a motor vehicle. After about 5 minutes he still wouldn’t give up. I just kept him chatting till he finally gave up and ended the call.

Got a call from this number again asking about some accident. When I asked where they found my number, they said some other department. Told them I was recording and asked to speak to their boss, then they started laughing and breathing weirdly. Luckily, my daughter’s recorder was nearby, so I blew into it as hard as I could. There’s a complete lack of an organisational structure and not a single English representative in sight. They operate under a variety of names, making them even harder to track. I’m at a loss as to how they obtained my information in the first place.
