I got one of those automated calls saying it was from HMRC, same as a few others have mentioned. The voice sounded really scary, like they wanted to freak you out. I just ended the call straight away, then I used 1471 to check the number and to my surprise, there actually was one - seems like they’re not very professional. Honestly, don’t even think about pressing any buttons they tell you to, it’s just a trick to stick you with massive phone charges.

This morning I got a call from a number saying it was HMRC and that they were going to take legal action against me if I didn’t press 1. I didn’t press anything since I know HMRC never call like that. Thinking about sharing it on Facebook. Should I report this call to HMRC? I got a call just like that too. I contacted the actual HMRC, and they said it’s nothing to stress over as long as you don’t hand over any of your info. Went ahead and rang them back, gave them a piece of my mind, and they quickly ended the call! Checked the cost and it was just a regular UK rate, so these folks are definitely local. Fingers crossed the genuine HMRC manage to track down and sort out these pesky scammers.

Got a call from 07441392209 saying they're from HMRC. This loudmouthed bloke with a thick foreign accent started yelling at me, saying I’d be cuffed and taken away. When I asked for a manager, he got really snappy. The supervisor then rang back pretending to be Peter Wilson - sounded nothing like a proper name, more like from somewhere in the East. Eventually, they slammed the phone in my ear - definitely not in a good mood! Reported the whole thing to the cops and Action Fraud, just in case.

Got a call from HMRC but it was one of those recorded messages saying you’re being sued and to press 1 to talk to someone about it. Honestly, it’s best just to hang up. Sounds like a total scam to me, probably one of those calls that could cost you a lot if you got involved. I wouldn’t risk it, just ignore and end the call straight away.
