They rang me up, so I blocked the number, but then they had the cheek to call again from a different one!

Received a call which disconnected as soon as I picked up. Shortly after, I got a message saying “Wakey wakey! Don’t let this pass you by, 4 for just £25!” It appears they believe this might lure someone into ringing them back. Just a heads up, it’s a con through and through, so stay vigilant and steer clear of their number!

Got an automated call supposedly from BT saying they were going to disconnect my internet today and I needed to press #1 to continue. I just ended the call and blocked the number.

This number keeps ringing me for weeks and I just don’t pick up, same with any calls from numbers I don’t recognise. They never leave a message either. A while back I bought new landline phones that come with call blocking - pretty much all new phones do these days. When you block a number, they can still call but your phone won’t ring, so it’s no hassle. My blocked list is nearly as long as my contacts now, but at least I’m not rushing to answer only to get a pesky call.
