I got a couple of calls from this BT text messaging thing on 08456021, supposedly for 07422502424, trying to send a message to my landline really early in the morning. Most of what was said made no sense, just some rubbish with something about "to opt out" or whatever. The only clear bit I caught was "447958". Luckily it was my spare landline that got the calls, with the ringer turned almost off, and I've got the answerphone on all the time to filter who's calling.

Getting constant texts from 07422502424 on a landline that’s supposed to be for emergency calls to someone struggling with suicidal thoughts is really upsetting. We definitely don’t need scammers clogging up such an important number!

I'd just say ignore the calls and don't reply at all. If they leave a message on your voicemail or 1571, best to just delete it straight away.

The automated reading was rather rapid, making it difficult to catch everything.
