I received a phone call from someone purporting to be from the technical support team at Virgin Media, supposedly to assist with some broadband troubles I’ve been experiencing. However, it seems rather dodgy, as I'm not even a Virgin customer!

I got a message from this number about an order supposedly ready for delivery, but I’ve never bought anything from that company or even heard of them before. The text had a link too, but I didn’t touch it because it felt dodgy. After that, I googled the number and now I’m just getting rid of the message. Honestly, I’d warn anyone not to click on links coming from strange mobile numbers like this one - it’s just not worth the risk!

somebody called claiming to be from talk talk's tech support. when i told them i wasn't a talk talk customer and asked how they got my number, the call suddenly went silent but they didn't end it. i warned them i’d report the number for scamming and then i put the phone down. earlier today, i also got a call from a very similar number, only the last three digits were different, 828 or something like that.

Got a call from 'Talk Talk' saying my internet was hacked and asking me to log into my PC. Bit odd cos why would my broadband provider ring me from a mobile number? Doesn't seem right to me.

A lady with an Asian accent called me claiming she was from my "internet provider," but she refused to say which company exactly. When I told her I didn’t even have internet, she mentioned something about my landline being linked to an internet account. I kept insisting I don’t have any internet service. Then she got really quiet and I could hear her shuffling through some papers, maybe checking a script. I ended the call - seemed dodgy and definitely not professional. Probably some kind of scam.

i got loads of missed calls from this number saying it was about my barclays bank account. i decided to chat with barclays directly using their online help and they told me to just ignore the calls, they said they’d check what’s going on. quite relieved they’re sorting it out!

got a call from a lady with an asian accent claiming to be from talk talk, said my internet was compromised. she wanted to get remote access to my computer. when i asked for proof she said to just trust her word. i told her i'd ring talk talk myself and found out there was no issue with my internet at all. definitely a scam trying to rope people in.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from TalkTalk saying my internet was being used by an IP that wasn’t mine. When I said I’d hang up and ring TalkTalk myself to verify, they just cut the call. Pretty suspicious if you ask me.

some scummy scammer from india or pakistan called me, i just ignored it. theyre the worst kind of people, always trying to rip off pensioners and those who cant defend themselves. honestly, they’re barely worse than criminals like paedos. these rubbish scammers deserve to be thrown out and shamed in public, treat them like they deserve.

I received a call from a lady with an Asian accent who said she was representing my internet service provider, but when I asked for specifics about which provider, she couldn't give me a straight answer. I mentioned that I don’t have an internet connection, yet she insisted that my phone was connected to the internet and that she was indeed calling from my internet company. I kept reiterating that I wasn’t online. I could hear her shuffling through documents but she didn’t say anything. At that point, I decided to end the call. Seems like it was just another dodgy scam attempt.

I received a phone call from someone who claimed they were checking up on my Internet performance, insisting that it had been sluggish lately due to potential unauthorised access. They went on about needing to make some updates. However, I found it odd that they didn't respond to any of my queries and simply urged me to continue. At one point, I couldn't help but remark, “Do you honestly believe I'm foolish enough to buy into this ruse?” At that, they abruptly ended the call without a word!

Got two calls today, didn’t say a word before hanging up. When I answered, they stayed silent which made me think it was probably some kind of scam or spam. The second time I just let it ring out, no point answering if it’s going to be the same. Pretty sure it’s nothing legit.
