Someone rang me from 07418290132 warning that if I didn’t pick up, I’d be arrested over some tax fraud. Proper stressful call!

Got a text saying it was from HMRC about me owing tax, with a link included. But HMRC never sends texts like that, they always send official letters in the post. So, if you get a message like this, don’t click on any links from that number - it's probably a scam.

Got a message today about a loan, looked like it came with a dodgy link. If you see anything like that, just block it, and definitely tell your phone provider and crime stoppers. Seen loads of similar ones from different numbers. Seriously, how do these scammers keep getting hold of our numbers? The phone companies, police, and government should really step up and sort this out instead of leaving it to us to deal with. It’s just pure laziness on their part.

Had another one about replacing my boiler, can you believe it? That’s the fifth call this week alone. They ring from mobiles which makes it so tricky to report them since they just chuck the number or switch phones. Total scammers, honestly.

Every time i answer, there’s just silence. I reckon they’re trying to figure out when people are home. After that, they call back again at that exact moment, probably to bother you even more. It’s like they’re just trying to mess with your head.

Got a call from National Green Energy about switching my boiler. Odd thing is, they rang me from a mobile number, which made me a bit suspicious since I assumed decent firms would use a landline. Even though I've signed up to the TPS, these calls have actually got worse, not better. Bit frustrating honestly!

Got a call from some guy with a foreign accent claiming to be from National Green Energy. I just told him I wasn’t interested and hung up straight away. I’m registered with the Telephone Preference Service, and honestly, any legit business should check it before making calls. I’d recommend everyone signs up - it really does cut down on those annoying sales calls. Plus, if they do call, you can just say you’re on the TPS and they usually back off. If they keep bothering you, you can always report them to TPS as well.

Like others have said, it was a lady from an Indian call centre, but I could barely catch what she was saying about some boiler thing. I must have sounded totally uninterested because as soon as she finished her intro, she just ended the call. Just block and forget about it.

Got a call from some Indian guy named Peter about replacing a bullet or something. I told him I'm not interested and that I know it's a scam, asked him to stop calling me. Of course, he said he'd call again. It's the same call centre that pretends to be debt collectors too. Been getting these annoying calls for years now, really hope they get shut down soon.

Got a call from some National Green Energy lot, said it was connected to a government scheme for swapping boilers. I asked where they got my number from since I have Caller Preference on, and then I said can they repeat their company name so I could report them properly. They just hung up on me.

Just got a call at 11:47 from a number I don't recognise. I didn’t pick up and left my answerphone on, but no message was left and they just hung up. Sounds like another annoying spam call to me. If it’s really important, they’ll ring back, but I’m definitely not calling them!

I got a call from National Green Energy and honestly, they’re a nightmare! When I tried calling their Birmingham office back, just a recorded message and then calls get blocked. Feels like a dodgy scam to me. The police really need to check out that Hagley Road place in Birmingham!

Someone with an Indian accent called me and asked for me by name, talking about a free boiler replacement. I told them loads of people have been calling about boiler replacements and that my boiler is brand new. They just said “oh ok, bye” kind of awkwardly. I hung up and blocked the number before they even could. It was obvious to me it was a scam since it came from a mobile number but sounded like a call centre. They’re honestly the worst kind of scammers.

At about 10:10 in the morning on 23/08/2019, I got a call on my landline from a mobile number. When I picked up, there was just silence, nobody said anything.

Got a call from 07418352421 round about 4:30 in the arvo. The bloke asked if I was Mrs Brown, I told him I wasn’t. After that, he asked if he’d got the wrong number, which I confirmed. Then there was a bit of silence, and he hung up. Seems like Mrs Brown’s name is pretty common here, cos we keep getting calls meant for her - even after switching our number. This ain't the first time that number’s popped up on my phone.
