Got a call on our home phone around 8.01 this morning. The bloke claimed he was ringing from some energy company and said our roof needed extra insulation. When my missus told him to stop, he just said goodbye and ended the call. We already had our roof insulated recently, so it seems like a con. Also, most offices don’t open before 9, so I just blocked the number.

This bloke called saying my home was listed for a scheme to swap out old insulation. When I tried to get him to say the address he was talking about, he just brushed me off and carried on with his spiel, even talking over me when I asked again. I called him out as a scammer and ended the call straight away.

This was totally dodgy, they were calling using the name Eco green centre, making it sound like some official government program. They told me my place was one of the last few left to get the loft insulation swapped out. Honestly, I nearly fell for it because he sounded proper legit, going on about how the old council insulation might bring in damp and mould.

The bloke said his name was Chris and claimed he worked for some energy advice firm. I told him straight up I didn’t know who he was and hung up.
