Last night I got a message from a number I didn’t recognise about some payment to the bank.

Got a call from this number, seemed like some kinda banking scam. Best thing to do is not answer or ring back, just let your bank know straight away.

Got a couple of texts from this number saying they were Halifax. Funny thing is, Halifax already flagged a dodgy payment on my banking app and sent me alerts both on the app and from their official number. Soon after, this unknown number sends a very similar message, asking me to reply 'yes' if I didn’t make the transaction. The text looked just like something Halifax would normally send. Felt a bit off to me.

Got a text claiming to be from Lloyds Bank saying they’d blocked a payment of £9 to Deliveroo. Didn’t really look right to me.

Got a message saying my payment to Lloyds Bank didn't go through, but it was from their legit service. Then, shortly after, I got another text from a different number (07401 145730) saying they'd ring me between 7 in the morning and 11 at night. Just to be clear, this is definitely not Lloyds Bank messing about.

Got a call from someone pretending to be from my bank after a payment of mine got declined. Seemed a bit off to me.

A couple days after my other half got caught out by a dodgy email pretending to be from Amazon, she began getting annoying spam messages from this number. Thankfully we spotted the scam pretty quick.

The message said something like "Your card ending wxyz has been rejected by Amazon, reply YES if this was you".

Not long after, she got a phone call with some sort of automated voice, but she just cut it off right away so I dunno what it was about.
