Early this morning about 6:30, I got a text from +4473993454340 claiming I had a tax refund from January 2nd, 2021. The text said it was from HMRC but I didn't know the number so I avoided clicking any links. I looked up the number 07399345340 and also went onto the official HMRC page to be sure. Turns out, it’s just another one of those many scams going around.
