Every single day, I'm getting calls from them. Most times, they just cut off the call before I can say anything and never bother to leave a voicemail. After seeing what folks wrote here, I've started blocking every number that rings. Despite that, the calls keep coming from new numbers or different UK areas. Now, if no one's leaving a message, I simply block the number straight away.

Got a call the other day from someone pretending to give debt help but wanted me to pay first. Luckily, I remembered a similar scam from a while back and just ended the call straight away.

Got a call from some guy claiming he’s from the debt department. When I asked what company he was with, he just wouldn’t say and kept going on about some “GVT set” or whatever. Seriously, don’t give these muppets any info. He even flew off the handle and called me illiterate when I asked him to spell out his name. Proper dodgy.

Got a call from a woman claiming to be from credit investigations, saying I owed money on a credit card and that I’d taken a loan out. Yeah right! I’ve never even had a credit card, let alone a loan. I just told her off, said “Complete nonsense, don’t call me again!” and slammed the phone down.

A person claimed to be from citizens advice but got really upset when I didnt want to share my info. Sounds like a dodgy scam, really risky stuff.

Got a call from a mobile number claiming to be from some government debt aid group. They wanted to know how much I owed and then pushed me to pay £100 straight away. When I asked for the caller’s name and their manager’s details, they just ended the call. Total scam. They rang me three times in half an hour, I only answered the last one because I was on my break.

They claimed to be representing the Government. When I asked which Department, all they said was just the Government Department! Later they brought up the FCA but got the title wrong. I ended the call.

Got a call from 07379 185814 about 5 mins ago. They just rang once and didn’t leave any message. Honestly, I’m relieved my phone was on silent - though it was an accident! After seeing the other comments, I’m glad I didn’t answer.

Got a call from 07379185814 earlier. When I picked up, the bloke just said “is this” and then my name. I asked him who he was, but he just repeated “is this” plus my name again, so I kept insisting he tell me who was calling. Eventually he told me to just say yes or no, so I said, “You rang my mobile, so you should ID yourself.” Then he told me to just hang up. I wasn’t having any of it and rudely told him what I thought before he cut me off.

Some bloke rang me on my mobile, said his name was Tom and he was from Citizens Advice. When I asked how he got my number, he claimed it came from my creditors, who supposedly handed my info over to the Office of Fair Trading (which, by the way, deals with dodgy businesses, not debts!). He said he was working with some government scheme to clear debts. I told him straight up it was a load of rubbish, a scam, and I don’t appreciate people trying to con others like that. He just kept on with his patter, so I ended the call and blocked him.

Got a call just now from some bloke saying he was with Citizens Advice, asking about my supposed debts. I told him straight away I knew it was a con since I don’t owe anything. He wasn’t too happy and just shouted something like "Get lost, witch" before slamming the phone down. Charming bloke, that one.

So the bloke from Citizens Advice rings me up and actually asks for my maiden name, which is odd since I’ve been married over eight years. Then out of nowhere he asks if I’ve got any debts, like credit cards or whatever. I was like, “What are you on about?” Then he starts telling me I was rude and to go F myself! I shot back with, “I’ve got a husband that takes care of me, cheers for checking though!” After that, he just hangs up. Honestly, I hope he calls again, would love another chat, haha!

Got a call about 20 minutes ago, and when I asked who it was, the person just ended the call. I tried ringing the number back but it said it wasn’t valid or something. Definitely seems like some sort of scam to me.

Had a couple of scammers ring me today, just two so far. This guy was awful at his fibs, he tried to say he could assist me with my debts. I just said thanks for the offer and told him to have a lovely day (don’t laugh too hard please!). Then I ended the call.

I kept asking for his identity instead, but it just kept going round and round. Honestly, this bloke was very frustrating, probably some kind of scammer with a bad temper.

I got a call from a guy named Thomas who claimed the UK Government told him I owe money and he could help sort out my debts by consolidating them. I ended the call straight away. Then he rang me again but I quickly cut him off. He called a few more times, always saying the Government had contacted him and he wanted to connect me to his manager for proof. I just said no and hung up every time. Luckily, he hasn’t phoned since. Feels like a total scam to me!
