Every month I keep getting charged for some ‘premium texts from 65144’ on my phone bill. I’m with Three and when I spoke to them they said it’s not their problem and I should contact the company myself to get my money back. Honestly, how do these businesses get away with this? It feels like pure daylight robbery! Does anyone know the best way to challenge this and actually get a refund? Really need some help here.

Every month I keep getting charged for "premium texts from 65144" on my Three mobile, but when I contacted Three, they just told me to ask the company for a refund myself. It's crazy they let this go on without any help! How can a business like that still be operating? Feels like total daylight robbery to me. Would really appreciate any tips on how I can push this further and actually get my money back.

Noticed an extra £3 on my last couple of phone bills for texts from 61544. Got in touch with 3Mobile and they said they’ll give me back the £6 on my next bill. They’ve also blocked that number and any other premium ones, so hopefully won’t get any dodgy messages again.

So this number was linked to some recipe site that looked dodgy to me, so I flagged it as a scam. I never dialled the number but started getting hit with a £3 monthly fee anyway. Now, Three are being a nightmare trying to sort out a refund.

Just saw a £3 charge on my bill for a text I never replied to. I called 3 mobile and they seemed aware it’s some sort of scam, but weren’t very clear about it. They told me to send “STOP” to 65144 and said they’d pass my complaint up the chain. Not sure what will come of it but I’m definitely going to keep checking my 3 mobile account regularly. Not expecting much but fingers crossed it gets sorted.

Has anyone bothered to officially report this number and the scam info to Action Fraud via their phishing report page? Reporting is really the only way to block these scammers properly. Every scam call needs to be flagged. You should also tell your phone company and give a heads-up to others here about the steps you took.

I got a couple of texts from this number, one mentioning some sort of recipe site with a link included. The first came from a short code, I think it was 65144. Then, I got a second message, but this time there was no visible number, just something called ‘Shopsafe’. Like others have said, they charged me £3 on my phone bill. I rang my provider, 3, and luckily they gave me a refund. I have no clue where they got my number from and I’m really annoyed they managed to take money without my okay. Now I’ve asked 3 to block any premium texts or calls so this doesn’t happen again.

Just got a random message with a recipe and a link out of nowhere. No idea who this company is that owns this number, but they really should get slapped with a big fine for this rubbish.

On October 27th 2019, I got a dodgy text from 65144, linked to that thing called [#]my.recipefinder[###]. Didn’t tap or open anything, just left it alone. I sent a report to 7726 saying it was spam. Looked up the number online and loads of people said it had taken £3 off their phone credit. When I checked mine, sure enough, £3 had been deducted. Will update more soon.

07378903139 So after pointing out another £3 got taken on the 27th of September, they admitted it was true. I asked if it was linked to the same scammer, and yes, they confirmed it was. Then the person went off to check with their manager and came back offering me £10 compensation added to my credit. That made my balance just a pound more than what it had been back in December 2018, so I decided to accept it.

On 27th September 2019, I got a spam text from 07378903139 about a free recipe deal from some website called [#]my.recipefinder[###]. I didn’t click any links or do anything with it. I reported the message as spam by texting 7726. Then, I got another message with a PIN from a place named "ShopSafe," asking me to use the code on the same [#]my.recipefinder[###] site, but also said to ignore if I hadn’t asked for it. I called my mobile provider, THREE, to report a scam and ask for a refund since my phone credit was stolen. Spent ages on the phone with them, but all they offered was a measly £5 for a £3 loss. I wasn’t having it, so I told them to check my entire top-up history and refund every call over 30p because I never make calls costing that much. Hoping they take it seriously this time. If you don’t put a stop to it, they’ll keep nicking £3 from you each month. Honestly, get your phone provider involved and make them sort it out.

This morning I got a message saying it was from myrecipefind. I rang the company three times to report it but they weren't much help since no money had gone out yet. Then I got another text from shopsafe with some kind of code I never asked for. Now I’m keeping an eye out to see if I get more messages or if £3 disappears from my bank. This sort of scam needs to be cracked down on - no clue how they managed to get hold of my number in the first place.

Just like others have said, I got some messages from this number too but mine were about games. First, I got a message about some game, then one about a pin which I didn’t pay any attention to, then suddenly a text from a shortcode about games popped up and ended up charging me £3! I’ve no clue how I ended up subscribed to that. I rang my phone provider to sort it out.

Got a message from this number saying pretty much the same as what’s written here, followed by another text from 65144 which has somehow cost me £3! I’m currently chatting with my network provider because I definitely didn’t agree to any of this!

Received an sms about free cooking recipes that said “freepromo-want quick easy tasty recipes sent weekly? no fuss no drama just good home cooking! visit [#lmy.recipes##[##]. reply stop to opt out ad”. I ignored it because it wasn’t from a shortcode. But later got another one from 65144 with almost the same message and then noticed £3 was taken from my balance without my consent.
