Got a text saying “Halifax Security: Someone added a new payee (MRS K ADAMS) using the Halifax app on 05/10/20 at 19:56. If you didn’t do this, check: [#]halifax-sec[###].” This is obviously spam since I’ve never dealt with Halifax Bank before.

I checked with Halifax and they said that message is a scam. Don’t click on any links or anything like that, it’s best to just ignore it. Stay safe out there!

Beware of a scam pretending to be from Halifax security! They claim a new payee named Mrs K Adams was added through the Halifax mobile app on 05/10/20 at 20:20. If you didn’t do this, they tell you to go to some dodgy link like ..[#]halifax-sec[###]. Don’t trust it, it’s definitely a con!
