Phone number ☎️ 07367908229 👆 is reported as a persistent scam targeting UK residents with threatening calls from individuals falsely claiming to be HMRC officials. Some bloke phoned saying HMRC was coming to arrest me. I laughed and said my husband works for them and there’s nothing on my file. Then bam, he hung up! Definitely a scam!!! It’s awful to think they might trick some old person who can’t double-check online into paying them cash and lose their savings. Make sure you don’t get caught out like that! I’ve reported it already!

I got caught out too and ended up losing £1000 to them. Honestly, don't hand over any money - it's all a scam.

Got two calls today from the same number, both times just some robotic message, like what others have said here. Obviously, I didn’t bother calling them back. W•••••s for sure.

Got a voicemail about tax dodging from 07367908229, saying to ring them or it’ll get worse. Sounds dodgy, so I’m just gonna block the number.

Some bloke called Justin Holiday rang me, saying he was from HMRC and that I was being looked into for dodging tax. Then he put me through to someone higher up who told me I had to pay straight away or they'd freeze my bank and arrest me. Funny thing is, I looked up Justin Holiday at HMRC and there's someone by that name but he's the chief finance officer, not some low-level bloke chasing debts. Why would he pass me on like that? Look out, this is definitely a con - I nearly fell for it!

Watch out, that was a dodgy call pretending to be from HMRC!

Never just trust someone on the phone saying who they are. If they ring and start asking you to pay something, log in somewhere online, or push you to take a special offer, watch out! Don’t hand over your information - they usually want to scam you out of cash.

Some bloke rang me up threatening arrest and saying I’m being looked into for dodging tax. He told me all my bank accounts would get locked. Turns out, they reckoned I owed them about £4200. Proper stressful!

This bloke was saying if I paid straight away on the phone they'd cancel sending the cops after me. Total scam, don’t fall for it!

Got a call from a guy with a thick accent who said his name was JOHN THOMPSON and claimed to be from HMRC. He told me I supposedly owed £4200 in taxes and advised me to borrow money from mates or family but to tell them it was for a bill, not HMRC 🤣🤣 what cracked me up was his super obvious foreign accent and then using a very English name like JOHN THOMPSON 🤣🤣 absolutely ridiculous!

I got a phone call from some bloke with an Indian accent saying his name was John Thompson and that he was calling from HMRC. He claimed I owed nearly 5 grand for tax evasion. When I said I didn’t have that sort of money, he threatened to have me arrested within 20 minutes. I decided to mess around and ask daft questions, and then he just swore at me and slammed the phone down. Proper scammer!

Answered the phone like any normal person would, only to hear they’re looking into me for tax dodging or something like that. It was one of those recorded messages, telling me to ring back on another number, but I didn’t bother jotting it down.

If you get a call on your landline from someone claiming to be HMRC and they're threatening you with jail or demanding you pay with vouchers, just end the call straight away. Make sure you let HMRC know about it too, so they can try and stop these scammers.

Be careful! Legit companies such as banks or HMRC won't ring you up unexpectedly asking for your bank info. Never share your personal details like that!

Got a call from some scammer pretending to be HMRC. Honestly, if it weren’t such a pain to get through to the real HMRC, I’d have reported it by now.

Got a robo call claiming I’m being looked into by HMRC for tax dodging, telling me to ring a mobile number. When you ring back, it goes straight to some call centre run by people from Asia, and they’re just trying to scam you. Honestly, steer clear of it :)

Got a call from someone claiming i was under investigation for some old tax dodging. They told me i had to cough up £4,989 straight away or the police would come and arrest me. They mentioned i could dispute the charge but only after payment. Honestly, it sounded pretty convincing and i nearly fell for it. When i started questioning them, they said a warrant was going out for my arrest.

So, I got a call saying I’m under investigation for tax evasion. But from what I know, HMRC always sends a letter before calling anyone. If you’re unsure, just check their official website. Honestly, this sounds like a total scam to me.
