I just got a call from a number claiming to be from HMRC, telling me there’s some urgent legal matter in Oxford if I don’t get back to them straight away. Sounds really dodgy to me.

This morning at about 8:37 I got a call from 07367845237 claiming to be from HMRC, warning me about serious legal stuff, court fees and the lot. They said it was my final warning. Oddly enough, I got the same message on my cell on 4th July, but that time it was from 02032346352. Seems fishy to me.

Got a robo call this morning around 10:41am, bloke said it was "HMRC". He sounded serious. Said it was urgent and warned me about some legal trouble unless I ring 736 784 5237. Then this guy, who introduced himself as Mike Wilson from HMRC, finished with a “Goodbye and have a blessed one.” Honestly, that last bit made me chuckle. This was the second dodgy call I’ve had in an hour - earlier, some live person ringin’ about an Amazon Prime account I definitely don’t have. Total scam city today!

I’m pretty sure this was a spam call. What’s odd is how they managed to get hold of my business phone number since it’s not listed anywhere and just a handful of people, including BT, even know about it! We’ve put it on the TPS register too, so theoretically it shouldn’t be passed around to telemarketers. The weird thing is, no one ever rings this number directly (loads of other numbers get forwarded to it).

My partner got a call from 07367845237 at 9.09am on 8th July 2020. The caller said they were from HMRC and warned about legal trouble unless she phoned a specific number - which she didn’t manage to note down in time. This worried her quite a bit since she’s not feeling great at the moment, but after I explained it was likely a scam and showed her this website (which I use regularly), she felt much better. Really grateful for this brilliant site, hope it can help others too. I’ll also be passing the details along to HMRC as suggested in some comments here.

Got a call on my landline this morning around 8:45 from this number, claiming I owed huge fees on my taxes and accounts. Totally a scam, no doubt about it. It's sad really - thought maybe after all this COVID stuff, they'd have a bit more decency and empathy, but nope. Watch out, folks!

I got a call with a posh English accent, sounded like a proper recording though. They said something about HMRC starting legal proceedings against me. Definitely seemed dodgy.

Got a call on 7th July around 11.30 in the morning. They were going on about some unpaid tax and how serious it was, with threats of bad things to come if I didn’t pay. Ended the call saying have a nice day. Bit of a joke if it weren’t actually worrying!

Got a call saying it was from HMRC about some huge financial claim against me and my insurance number. Totally sounded dodgy, so I just told them to jog on and ended the call!
