He asked me for £2000, saying he was stuck in a Kabul clinic because the Taliban were after him on some kind of mission. Our chats started on WhatsApp then moved to email and Signal. He’s gone by loads of names too: Omar, Amad, Ahmad, Kevin, Mertens, and Martens. Spent about a month caught up in his lies, and he really knows how to use every trick in the book to manipulate you. If this sounds familiar, I’d recommend watching “Tinder Swindler” and “Inventing Anna” on Netflix - it really opened my eyes.

Just a heads up to all the ladies out there! I got caught up with this bloke on a dating site who turned out to be a scammer. He kept pressuring me to send him cash - and once you do, there’s no getting it back. The story he spun was that he’s some kind of international security guy from Belgium, living here in the UK but currently posted in Afghanistan. Apparently his bank got frozen and now these ‘enemies’ are after him. Total rubbish, stay sharp!
