Got a message from 07312730367 saying PayPal spotted I was about to pay some bloke called Steve Jones. The text had a link to follow to cancel the payment ASAP. I've used PayPal quite a bit and they never ring or text from some random number like that telling you to click links. Definitely not how they handle things. So yeah, ignore the link, it’s a scam.

There's a huge rise in PayPal scams happening in the UK. Loads slip through cos some actually manage to catch people out and hardly anyone reports the rest. Every scam try really needs to be logged with the police database. It's dead simple, you don’t even have to sign up. Just search for 'action fraud', head to the site on 'police.uk', then go to 'reporting'. From the dropdown pick the phishing report bit and scroll down a bit past the scam email forms to fill it in. Keep your guard up everyone, and do your bit by reporting every dodgy call or msg trying to con us.
