I never click links from random texts anyways, but then I remembered I dont even have an account with HSBC! Looked it up and noticed the payee name was the same as always, didnt seem right. Just got a message saying a new payee called MRS S RAHEV has been added on my mobile banking with the number 07308387438. It mentioned South Normanton, Alfreton, Derbyshire, DE55. Looks like a total scam to me!

I got a call from this number 07398 596585 about some payee supposedly added to my HSBC business account, and they sent a link to sort it out. Do banks actually get in touch like this? Seems a bit dodgy to me.

Got a text from 079046770046 saying someone called Mr N Naeem was added to my account through mobile banking. It asked me to go to some HSBC security website if I didn’t know anything about it. This came through on my work phone, and I don’t even have an account with HSBC. Definitely a scam, don’t tap on the link!!

+447376372092 Got the same call this morning around 10.20am, said something about "HSBC new payee Mr Naeem" or something like that. I’m based in South Yorkshire. Did a quick search online and came across a news piece about a Burnley student who lost about £35,000 to this exact scam. Be careful and for god’s sake don’t click any links they send! Absolutely a scam!

07901382748 I received a message about a new payee added: Mrs K Adams with an account number and sort code, telling me to click a link if I hadn’t authorised it. The link looked like payyee-secure-cancel[###]/hsbc or something similar. Don’t tap on it! It’s definitely a scam.
