This is defo not the NHS. Got a text claiming to be a debt relief service but had a dodgy virus link in it. Seriously, do NOT tap on any links. The NHS wouldn’t message you from a weird mobile number like that, it’s crazy how some folks still think otherwise! This number’s sketchy and shouldn’t be trusted at all. I’m gonna report it for sure.

SCAM ALERT! I got a message from this number claiming my tax refund was ready, including a dodgy link gov.uk.org. Don’t fall for it! Real government sites always end with [###].gov.uk and they don’t send texts like these. Make sure you block this number and stay safe.

These spoofers are everywhere and the doctors haven’t got a clue about it, now they’ve got hold of my NHS number! It’s a mess with these spoofers who can’t even care for their own kids but end up teaching them to hack and scam for their own gain! Who can ya really trust online nowadays? Honestly, the internet needs to be done away with and rebuilt by the government only, proper and secure, without all these third parties cashing in with dodgy fake fixes.

This ain’t the NHS reaching out to you. The numbers and websites listed are legit for coronavirus help, but don’t click the links sent in messages - type or dial them directly yourself. If you use those links, scammers could steal your info or even hack your phone. I’m not in the shielding list (asked my doctor since I was puzzled) and honestly, this looks like a proper scam. Stay safe out there!

My missus got a message from this number saying she's in a high risk category. But she’s not on any meds, hasn’t been to the doc all year and has no health problems at all. So how can she be high risk?? This smells like a dodgy scam, best to just ignore it or speak to your GP to be sure.

My mum got messages at 9 this morning, a Sunday, from the NHS and Covid-19 saying she’s going to be admitted to hospital soon and should pack an overnight bag. I rang the hospital and they said there’s nothing about that on their end. It’s really worrying, especially for older and more vulnerable people.

Got called twice from 03333050466 and 07307810357, claiming to be from the National Shielding helpline (definitely a SCAM). Then I got a text saying we're shielded or something (ANOTHER SCAM). Honestly, don’t reply with STOP or they’ll just get you in even more.

Got a text from this number today. Like others have mentioned, I haven't received any official NHS letter saying I'm in a vulnerable category. I do have some breathing issues that might put me close to that, though. So, I looked up the NHS site to see the exact criteria for being classed as vulnerable. They list several medical conditions and meds that qualify someone for that group. From what I can see, I don’t think I meet those requirements, and since I have no official letter from the NHS, I’m pretty sure this is just a dodgy scam.

(1) it says "you'll recieve a letter from the nhs to CONFIRM this" (your status). So wait for the letter, not a message. (2) You’re already registered with the nhs, your NI deductions from your pay covered that while you worked. (3) If they needed to get in touch like this, they’d use proper official channels. (4) Toss it out, I reckon it’s a scam.

Got a message from this number saying I’m part of a vulnerable group. I’m actually a frontline Covid nurse, so this has to be a scam. Don’t click any links they send. If you’re worried, it’s safer to check info directly on the government’s website. Stay safe all!

GOV.UK coronavirus help: You've signed up as a clinically extremely vulnerable individual. If you’ve not got a letter from the NHS or spoken to your GP or hospital doctor, you should reach out to them to check if you qualify as clinically extremely vulnerable. If you fit the medical criteria, your GP or doctor can ask for you to be added. If you require immediate help like food or care, get in touch with your local council. Got a text from 07307 810357 today (14th May 2020) saying it was the NHS Coronavirus Service. I'm not in any high risk category and they definitely haven’t singled me out. Luckily, I’m not vulnerable, but if I was, this sort of message would have really worried me. Honestly, it’s disgraceful that folks are sending these false messages around - they should feel proper ashamed.

Got a few messages from this number saying it was the NHS covid service telling me to isolate till the end of June. I rang my GP just to double check because the texts looked pretty official. They checked my file and said there was nothing to worry about and it’s probably a scam. Definitely not clicking any links or calling that number back.

07307810357 I've been getting 5 text messages from this number every morning around 9.30, all arriving at once. I'm not exactly vulnerable, don’t need anyone putting my bins out, shopping for me, or walking a pet I don’t even own. They suggest having a chat with a volunteer because apparently I’m lonely - which I’m not. These are clearly spam pretending to be from the NHS Coronavirus line, and the messages just keep getting more absurd. Don’t click any links or ring the numbers in these texts. And definitely don’t share any personal info.

I’ve got like 5 texts from this number in the last week but I don’t reckon they’re legit since I never got any letter from the Government or NHS to confirm it. These messages were sent to people who aren’t even in any high risk group, so it feels off. Scammers usually just spam loads of numbers hoping some will fall for it and click the links. Someone else here said to ask your GP about it; I called my GP’s reception and they told me they don’t get told about Government text messages beforehand, so they couldn’t really confirm if it was genuine or not. Bit useless if you ask me.

Ive gotten calls like this recently too. Its a pretty sneaky scam, not the NHS at all. They dont share your details or take ages to get back to you. Have a look at the OFCOM site, real texts come from GOV_UK not from this number. Even though this number looks legit, its been spoofed (made to look real but isnt) and the links likely send you to dodgy sites or other fake numbers. Dont click or reply! If ur worried, just ring ur GP direct.

Why are these texts popping up all of a sudden! We’ve had plenty of time over the past few weeks to send stuff like this out. Also, who has a house with two bathrooms these days? Shows the people creating these messages are really out of touch. Get on with proper Testing! And Tracing! like other countries that actually know what they're doing.

Got two texts from this number over the last couple days, first one asked me to fill out a form which I ignored, then another one with some isolation rules for high risk folks. My phone is flagging them as likely spam anyway. Even if they're legit, they're way too late to be helpful now, so I'm just gonna tune them out and definitely not calling any numbers they want me to.

Why are these texts only starting to pop up now! We've had plenty of time to spread this kind of info already. Also, who has a house with two bathrooms these days? Got this text and straight away thought it was a con. Normally NHS texts don’t show a number at all. Looks dodgy to me, so I’m ignoring it completely. They want you to fill in a quick form asking for your NI number - but surely it should be your NHS number? Plus, why now, months after all this virus stuff started, is it even late? I’ve not had any letter and after chatting with my GP who gave me no advice, it seems like they’re trying to phish for NI numbers and personal info. If I have to quarantine, I’ll just follow what my GP says.

This app says it’s an NHS number. I just got told I’m high risk, but why are they only saying it now? I’ve already been out shopping like three times during the lockdown.

I was pretty doubtful at first but looked into it using methods not linked in the message, and it seems like it could be legit. They’re basically mass messaging loads of numbers to cover all bases, which means techy folks will just assume it’s a con and those most at risk probably don’t even use mobiles. Seems genuine but a bit pointless imo.

Got a text from this number today saying I’m classed as vulnerable and shouldn’t leave the house till July. Don’t know what they’re on about, I go shopping for the family twice a week and have been out quite a bit (with safety measures). If it’s legit, it’s pretty late notice. I’m gonna disregard it unless I get something official in the post, seems like a scam to me.

Received a message from this number claiming to be from the NHS, stating that I’m on the "at risk" register and should stay indoors until the end of June. Quite concerning!

Sounds dodgy to me. Someone else in my family who’s more at risk got a letter like that a while back. It included a link, which I didn’t click on, mentioning you’d need your NHS number. From what I’ve checked, I don’t match any of the vulnerability criteria they talked about.

Got the message saying 'shield until 30/6'. My GP reckons it could be a scam. I haven't received any letter, but I know the post service has been quite dodgy lately. The web link and the 0800 number they gave do look legit though.

sounds about right, im classed as high risk and got a letter to prove it with advice on what to do to stay safe. high risk means not just catchin the virus but how serious it could be if i get covid 19.

Getting a call 6 weeks after lockdown claiming you're vulnerable? A bit too late innit.

Got a few messages a couple days back, then a letter showed up. Tonight they called as well. They didn’t ask for any bank info or anything, just asked if I needed any assistance. Seems legit NHS to me, but it's worth making sure.

Totally legit. They say they are from the NHS and keep sending me frequent updates about covid 19 and staying indoors.

Had my phone on silent, and they must be ringing loads of numbers at once but only a few lines open to pick up. Pretty sure it’s either some cold caller or a scam.

This number is real but im getting nonstop texts about the virus and its seriously annoying. They say you can reply with STOP, which I have done, yet the messages just keep coming.

Legit, no joke.

This is definitely real. It’s from the NHS Coronavirus service. I called the NHS Digital info line via the official NHS site and checked with them. They said it’s legit.

I think it might be from the NHS since I looked up the website mentioned and it seems legit. Still, I didn't click on the link in the message. I'm a bit puzzled as to why I got it in the first place though.

Don’t know who this was, no voicemail or anything just a couple of missed calls. Looks like some automated spam caller to me.

Just received a message to prepare a bag in case a hospital visit becomes necessary. This can understandably bring on a wave of anxiety for quite a few people.

Better to be careful regardless.

I received the message warning me to stay indoors, along with three additional alerts.

Got a call from a number that just rattled off a bunch of steps with zero explanation. Felt like spam to me, completely pointless and confusing.

Got a call from 07307810357 saying it was the NHS Corona Virus Service. Couldn't find anything about it on Google or any official NHS pages. Feels like a scam to me, so didn't click the link. Just blocked and deleted it.

I think this message is sent if you’re listed as a contact for someone who’s really vulnerable. I’m not vulnerable myself, but I’m the main carer and point of contact for someone who is. They don’t have any other phone number for that person.

Just got this from the NHS - if you reckon you've been put on the list by mistake, you can have a look at the conditions they’ve identified down below. If you’re sure it’s not relevant to you, then you can just disregard the message. But if you’re still worried, it’s best to chat things over with your GP.

Got a missed call from this number but no voicemail or text afterwards, can anyone confirm if this is actually the NHS?

It's legit, honestly. I was quite doubtful and checked this website several times before believing it. I messaged NHSDigital on Twitter and they verified that the four texts I’ve got so far are authentic and a letter should arrive shortly. It truly is the NHS, though they admitted they might've accidentally texted some folks by error. Bit sloppy, but it’s understandable when they're trying to reach more than 1.5 million people so quickly in an emergency.

I’m pretty sure this is one of those phishing scams. Seriously, don’t hand over any of your bank info! I’m perfectly fine and don’t care for anyone who’s vulnerable. Feels like they’re trying to trick you with legit links and helpful tips, then before you realise it they’re asking for cash to send your prescription or something similar. Also, why would they call from a strange number starting with a prefix from Three? And why do two of the messages let you opt out but the third one doesn’t? Seems fishy to me.
6 years
Got a couple of texts off this number recently. They sounded pretty legit but why use a mobile for this kinda thing? Feels like they’re trying to make folks trust that number before they pull some dodgy scam. I guess I’m just a bit paranoid!
6 years
Just like a lot of you, I've got three texts lately that match what folks here are saying. It's weird how each one is a bit different - the first text had a "STOP" button plus a link, the next one just a link, and the last didn’t have either. Has anyone thought that maybe the comments saying "I reckon it's legit" could actually be from the scammers themselves? They might not have sketchy links right now, but down the line you might start trusting the number and end up replying to something dodgy!

This is from the NHS, ive had like three messages from them too telling me how to take care of myself. It’s not just me but also my daughter who got them. We all know what it’s about though, cheers NHS.

I just signed up for messenger on the morning of the 23rd and then got a message around 6.40pm saying I was in some kind of danger. Definitely a scam as far as I can tell. No clue who it’s actually from, but it seems to be tied to several numbers coming out of India. The number I got it from was 07803810357.

Nah, that can’t be right! It’s crazy how they don’t even bother asking for my info, yet they send me links to legit NHS sites when they know I have health issues. Honestly, mate, you’re a muppet. Quit spreading fear for no reason.
6 years
I reckon it’s legit but honestly, it’s pretty poor. They didn’t even consider privacy properly. At the very least, they should’ve ‘signed’ it with who sent it. Having the recipient’s name would’ve been a bonus but I get that might complicate bulk sending (I know how to do that stuff).

My mum got that exact message you’re all mentioning here - it said something about her being at high risk, which we had no clue about. The message felt a bit dodgy since it wasn’t very professionally worded, so we figured it’s probably just spam. She actually got the same message two times, but we just ignored it. Surely, if it was really urgent like the text claimed, the NHS or her doctor would have rung us up directly.

Got a text saying it was from the NHS coronavirus team, same kind of message others have mentioned. Then I received another one asking if I knew how to get my meds while I’m isolating. Seems legit since the links go to official websites, and I do have a health issue. Bit odd tho that it came from a mobile number.

I got a text yesterday and thought it was odd, so I called my doctor's surgery to check. They told me they only send letters to people in that high-risk category, never texts. Also, a legit message from the NHS would start with NHS-NO REPLY or something similar, which this didn’t have. So yeah, I reckon it’s a scam.

The first text let me opt out but the second one today had no option?? Bit dodgy if you ask me, and I’m no easy target. Feels like a scam.
6 years
Yeah, looks like it’s really the nhs, just as I thought. I reckon these texts are just sent out to anyone who might be considered high risk. I’m guessing the nhs hasn’t had the chance or enough staff to go through every single patient’s records properly. I’ll ring my GP soon, but till then, I’ll do what everyone else is doing - stay indoors and keep safe, only going out for a bit of fresh air now and then.

Got a message like this just yesterday, which really caught me off guard since I don’t think I’m in any sort of high risk group. I rang up my doctor earlier today and they said if it was genuine, it would’ve come straight from their surgery - but they confirmed they haven’t sent anything out. So, they advised me to just dismiss the message.
6 years
This really seems like one of those phishing attempts. I’d recommend just deleting it straight away and not clicking on anything inside. Since the government made those moves back on 23 March 2020, there’s been loads more chances for scammers to try all sorts of dodgy tricks.
6 years
They use a mobile number to send these texts so folks can reply and say they don’t want anymore messages. If it was sent from something like NHS-NO-REPLY, then you wouldn’t be able to stop them from texting you again.

Got a message yesterday saying I’m at high risk because of underlying health issues. I’m fine physically but do struggle with mental health. I think it was meant for my elderly folks who I help look after. I get that these times are crazy, but just a quick note saying who it was for would’ve stopped a lot of worry. They mean well, but if I’d panicked, it might’ve added pressure on the NHS trying to figure it out. Have unsubscribed from the texts now but still want to use the service for my parents who don’t have mobiles. Take care everyone.
