Got a call claiming someone called MR C JONES has just been added as a new payee. They said if it wasn’t me I should click a link they gave. Of course, the link took me to a dodgy login page asking for my bank details. Classic scam!

Got a call about a new payee being set up at HSBC, sounded dodgy. I don't even use HSBC, so I just deleted the message straight away without bothering to open it. Seems like a scam, just like others have mentioned.

This number popped up again and someone called Mr C Jones pretending to be from HSBC bank. It’s best to steer clear of the link they sent, and FYI, that’s a mobile number - definitely not an official bank line.

It looks pretty legit at first glance, but clicking on the link just sends you to a sign-in page - something a real bank definitely wouldn’t do. Like others have said, the message says something about HSBC: “New payee request for MR C JONES on your account via HSBC mobile banking app. If this wasn’t you, go to: [#]securoyu.hsbc.verifypayee[###]/” or something along those lines. The page itself is wonky and doesn’t load right. Plus, I don’t even have an HSBC account! I get texts from my proper bank all the time, and they NEVER include any links like this. Suspicious AF.

Did anyone else get a message from +44 7307 076034 pretending to be HSBC about adding a new payee named MR C JONES? They claimed it was through the HSBC mobile app and said if I didn’t do it, to check some suspicious link. Seems dodgy to me, I didn’t request anything like that! Just a heads up if you get this too.

Got a text earlier pretending to be from HSBC asking me to check a transaction. I don't even have an account with HSBC, so definitely a scam. Seems like they're sending out bogus messages pretending to be banks. Watch out for these phishing attempts!

Scam alert! Got a message saying there's a new payee for Mr C Jones set up on your HSBC mobile banking with a link to click. I never click on links from random numbers like that. Seems like a proper dodgy scam to me.
