Total scam alert. The moment I told them I didn’t have a router, they hung up straight away. The number they called from is definitely bogus, linked to some Indian internet provider. They try to convince you to either give remote access to your PC or hand over cash to “secure” your broadband. Don’t fall for it!

Got a call from someone saying my bt broadband was about to be cut off, but they weren't from bt at all. It was some Asian bloke who barely spoke English, and as soon as I questioned him, he just hung up on me. Definitely a scam.

Like a few others mentioned, they claimed to be from BT and told me to hit 1 to stop my broadband because it’d been compromised. I just ignored it. Then this woman with an Asian accent, possibly Chinese, popped up saying she was transferring me for a survey or something? And then the call suddenly cut off.

Received a robotic call purporting to be from BT, warning me that my broadband was being accessed unlawfully. The moment I found myself speaking to someone across the pond, I decided enough was enough-hung up and promptly blocked the number.

I got a call from someone named "Sam" who was shouting over loads of background noise, claiming he was from the BT Technical Department. He said my broadband had been hacked and that he needed to cancel it right away. I told him thanks but I’d ring customer support myself. When I tried calling the number he gave, it was always busy. Checked my BT account and there’s no alert at all about any hacking. I’ve reported it to BT since it’s clearly a scam.
