Just like many folks here, I got a phone call claiming to be from BT warning me my internet would be cut off if I didn’t take action. The person on the line was so hard to make out, I asked for a bit of clarity. Instead of helping, they snapped, “What don’t you get, moron?!” Then kept calling me “moron” over and over before hanging up. Proper strange experience.

A bloke who said his name was Eric Watson rang me, saying he was from BT wanting to refund some money they apparently took from me back in Feb 2018. I asked for his phone number and he gave me 0282001698. I told him I’d already reported it to Action Fraud, which is true. He just said “no problem” and that was that.

This number has rung me twice just today. First time I picked up and there was no one on the other end. The second time, someone pretending to be from BT told me my broadband was going to be disconnected soon. I don’t use BT anyway, so I’ve blocked the number now.

Got a robo call saying it was from BT about my internet setup. Thing is, I only use mobile data, no home internet. I thought I’d see what they wanted, so I listened to the choices: one to keep my service, or two to cancel. I hit two, then got through to a woman who claimed to be from my internet provider. When she asked how I was, I told her I didn’t even know I had a provider. She just ended the call right away. Proper cheek! Definitely looks like a SCAM, don’t trust it.

Got a robocall saying BT was about to disconnect my internet. It told me to press 1 to speak to someone or 2 to actually turn off the service. I hit 1 and ended up speaking to a bloke with a strong accent, sounded quite rude. I played along while he asked about the lights on my router, all the while I could hear him munching on something into the phone. Then he wanted to know how many devices were hooked up. That’s when I told him to stop scamming folks and hanged up, then blocked the number. Proper nasty scammers!

The funny thing is, I’m out in the countryside miles away from any neighbours. They then asked me to press 1 to talk to an operator to fix things. Felt like a total scam, probably just after my personal details. Be careful, don’t hand over anything. Talk Talk never calls mobile phones like that anyway.
