Got a call from some Asian blokes who started threatening me and even said they’d hurt my family, proper scary stuff. The weird thing is, this all went down after we swapped cars at his place in Rotherham, Yorkshire. He really messed up by bringing my kids into it - what a nasty piece of work he is.

Had a call from a woman claiming to be Virgin Media, saying my router was under attack. She asked me to check it right away but I said no. When I told her I wasn’t going to help, she sounded quite rude and pushy. Definitely not a nice experience.

Got a call claiming to be from Virgin Media, but it was some guy with a heavy accent. When I told him to quit bothering me about stuff I had nothing to do with, he just hung up. There was so much noise in the background, it was hard to make out. Honestly, these scammers are really wearing me down - not easy for an old pensioner to keep dealing with this rubbish.

My phone buzzed at 8.35am but by the time I looked it’d stopped ringing. It was a mobile number so I returned the call, figured it might be a client or someone needing help. Got a message saying “number not recognised” instead. Pretty sure it’s a fake number and one of those dodgy scam calls. Watch out!

Got a call from someone saying they were with Virgin Media about my internet. It was total rubbish. The bloke sounded Asian and kept calling me “bro,” which seemed a bit off. I gave him a piece of my mind, told him he was a scammer. He kept ringing me though, and in the end, he just hung up. Definitely not from Virgin, don’t trust these calls.

Got a call from this woman called Jenny, sounded Asian, claiming to be from Virgin. She said my account was hacked and wanted to access my computer remotely to fix it. Her language was quite rude, calling my security rubbish and all sorts. I just ended the call straight away.

Got a call from this number at 8:20 this morning, claiming to be from BT and that there’s an issue with my modem. Yeah right! Then the exact same number rang me back at 12:15, but this time they said they were from Virgin Media. Sure, I don’t buy it. What puzzles me is how they manage to get past the block I have set up to stop unknown numbers from ringing me?

Got a call from some guy with an Indian accent saying he was Virgin Media. He told me there was an issue with my router and that my security updates wouldn’t work until it was fixed. I knew straight away it was rubbish, so I asked him to prove it by giving me details about my Virgin Media account. Of course, he couldn’t provide anything. The funniest bit was that instead of just hanging up, he started shouting at me over the phone like crazy!

I just got a call from 07244 336588 and the noise in the background sounded like some weird foreign talk. When I answered and said hello, the caller suddenly stopped mumbling nonsense and seemed to remember he was meant to speak English. 😂 Total fail on the scam attempt!

I heard numbers starting with 072 shouldn't even be in use, so if you're getting calls from one, it's probably someone spoofing it and trying something dodgy!

Just like others have said here, a bloke phoned up and sounded just like the ones described. We’ve had a few dodgy calls like this and even let BT know about it. I told the guy he was trying to pull a scam on me, and he got all shouty, so I ended the call. If you get the same type of call, please share your experience too.

I got called three times today from someone saying they were from Virgin Media, saying my router was being accessed by others. They asked if I was near the router and how many lights I could see. I just made up answers but they kept pushing. Then they told me to press the Windows key on my keyboard. When I asked what for, they just told me to do it. Somebody rang saying they were from Virgin Media's tech support and asked if I was close to my router. I said no, then they wanted to know how many lights were blinking on it. I told them, "But I’m not near the router, so how can I check?" They then insisted I go to it right away. I said I’d do it if they explained why they were calling from a mobile number on another network if they really worked for Virgin. They called me dumb, so in the end, I just hung up on them!

I got a call from a woman who said she was calling on behalf of BT. She told me there'd been loads of calls coming into my phone from overseas and that she could send out an engineer to stop them. She said the engineer would need to get on my computer to sort it all out. She asked how many gadgets I had. I told her straight up it was rubbish and a scam, and then she just hung up on me.
