Got a call from this number earlier today, but they just cut off the line. They rang back, and a woman claimed my computer was being hacked. I told her my computer hasn’t been on for a long time and asked where she got my number. She said she knew it was off and that she saw my number on the screen. When I kept asking for where she got my details and if she could tell me my name, she got annoyed, shouted “WELL THEN YOU LOSE YOUR COMPUTER!” and then ended the call.

He asked me to verify my bank sort code and account number, saying he supposedly already had them and just needed me to confirm. I told him there was no chance I'd share my banking info and told him to end the call. He tried to say I misunderstood, but I just cut him off.

Got a call from someone claiming to be "Telephone Preference Management" - the person had an Indian accent and asked if I receive nuisance calls. They even said my name and address. I told them the only group I know of is the "Telephone Preference Service". They replied saying TPS just blocks local nuisance calls, not ones from abroad. I asked for a contact number for TPM and they gave me 0270365492. I said I'd call back if I was interested. The call then ended.

Someone rang saying they were from a call blocking service I’d already joined (which honestly hasn’t done much good). But they used my husband's surname, which I never gave to the service, and the only calls I get with his name attached are always rubbish annoying ones! I remained quite dubious throughout my chat with them, yet they really put in the effort to sway me. In the end, I begrudgingly consented to a payment of £19.99 from my card, which was a bit lower since I’ve hit retirement age. These lot have called me about 4 or 5 times now, and mostly I just hang up as soon as they start asking for my card info. But today, I wasn’t paying attention and even though I asked for a website and then ended the call, they rang straight back to carry on. In the end, I agreed to a one-time payment to hopefully stop the constant spam calls bothering me. I received a call this morning around half eight from a chap who claimed to be aware of the nuisance calls I’ve been getting on my home phone. I agreed that was indeed the case! He insisted he could help me put a stop to them and bizarrely claimed to have all my personal details, including my phone number. Shockingly, he then requested the first twelve digits of my bank card to proceed with the so-called blocking of these unwanted calls! When I raised my concerns, he was insistent and pressured me to fetch my card and share those digits. It's clearly a scam; I mean, the services to halt those pesky calls are offered free of charge. Just a heads up to everyone out there-stay vigilant!
