I received a rather suspicious phone call this morning from a chap with an Asian accent, claiming he was representing BT. He warned me that my internet connection was about to be severed. However, I suspect it was a scam as I don't even have an account with BT!

Today I got a call on my home phone, number 06534998245, from someone claiming I owed money to Nationwide security. The woman sounded Indian, and I told her I had no clue what she was talking about. She then threatened to just take the money straight from my bank account. I told her, pretty bluntly, where to go. She ended up ringing back four times, still insisting I pay this made-up debt. Eventually, I told her to bugger off. I’ve had loads of calls like this before, but none as pushy as this one.

Today, I got a call on my landline from 06534998245, someone claiming I owed money to Nationwide security. The woman sounded Indian, but I had no clue what she was talking about. When I said that, she snapped back saying she'd just take the money straight from my bank account. That’s when I told her in no uncertain terms to shove off. She kept ringing me back - I lost count, maybe four times - insisting I pay this so-called debt. I ended up telling her to fuck right off. I've had plenty of scam calls before, but none as pushy or aggressive as this one.

Got a call from someone claiming my call blocking subscription was about to expire and they wanted to charge me for a new one. They actually knew my name! It definitely sounded like it was coming from an Indian call centre.

They spoke with a strong accent, and I couldn't catch everything, but I heard something like "National department" in there. I decided to end the call right then.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent talking about lots of annoying calls. I just listened and then asked her what the charge would be. She said it was free. I let her talk a bit longer until she started asking for my credit card details. That’s when I told her it sounded like a scam, and she just ended the call straight away. The start of the chat sounded kind of believable, which makes me worry that others might fall for it.

I've been getting loads of calls from different numbers where this American sounding voice says it's BT and threatens to cut off your service. It's actually scammers trying to fool you. They ring like this a few times every day. Honestly, BT should step in and sort this out because it's annoying and misleading.

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent saying she's from BT about some high volume of nuisance calls. Honestly, the number was coming from a New Zealand area code! What a load of rubbish. Total muppets.

I ignored it cause I didn’t know the number. After seeing everyone else’s experiences with this number, it’s clear it’s not just me. At least now I’m aware who’s behind the calls. But seriously, what’s the point of it all?

On Monday 20/05/19 at around 1:34pm, my landline rang from the number 06548 759858. Didn’t pick up cos I didn’t recognise it. No voicemail was left either. Figured it was probably a scam call.

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent, usual thing where they check if you’re there and then says “please don’t block this call.” Definitely sounds like they’re trying to get smarter. I tried asking if he was from BT, TalkTalk or Microsoft - the typical companies they claim to be - but he just stayed silent. So I blocked the number straight away!

Just like some others here, the call started with silence and then a woman who sounded Asian asked if she was talking to Mr so-and-so. I let her speak but I said nothing in return, and she just ended the call. I've blocked the number now.

Got a couple calls from this number today - the first was just silence, and on the other the lady with an Indian accent was saying she keeps getting annoying calls.

Got a call from some Indian lady claiming to be from the "do not call me" team in the UK! As soon as I started asking questions, she just ended the call. This is just one of loads of annoying calls I keep getting from these lot, total pain in the neck!

Got a ring from this number earlier, some bloke with an Indian accent saying he was calling on behalf of “Do Not Call Me UK.” He claimed someone had told him we were getting spam calls. I said, “Yeah, and your call is exactly the problem.” He just cut off right away. Another rubbish scam call, typical. These lot keep pestering you; block one and they’re back with a different number. It’s happened to me loads of times with this very same caller.
