There was nothing but this weird fax-like sound when I answered. I tried hanging up and dialling 1471 to check the last caller, but the line stayed open somehow, if that even sounds right.

I thought signing up for TPS would block this nonsense, but clearly not! Maybe they've picked up on the number and blocked it already - fingers crossed.

If you're fed up with annoying cold calls, I'd recommend checking out www.truecall.co.uk. They offer a small device that you connect to your phone line which lets you screen and block unwanted calls easily. When a telemarketer rings, you just add their number to your block list - called the "zap" list. Next time they call, they’ll get a warning message telling them they’re not allowed to ring you and that they could be fined up to £2 million for ignoring it (that's the current max fine). Best part, you don’t even have to pick up the phone to handle it. We’ve owned one of these for nearly 8 years now and rarely get the same nuisance number twice - they get banned straight away. The device is around £100, which I think is money well spent. Honestly, it’s worth having a look at, no harm done!

We run a company and just rang their free 0800 line. Spoke with a bloke, I think his name was "Adrian". When we told him what had gone wrong, he abruptly demanded our phone number. Then, when we said we wanted it removed from their list, he just cut the call! Honestly, their staff are so impolite. After nearly four months of folks moaning about their fax machine, I’m amazed they’re still in business.

These calls keep ringing through at all hours when I don’t expect them. My Dad’s in hospital right now so any unexpected phone makes me panic a bit. It’s really frustrating... I wish they would just quit it!

I own a fax machine and tracking down fax rolls is both tricky and pricey. Everytime I get one, it’s actually costing me money. I’ve sent faxes back with a clear STOP message and my own number on it. I’ve even called their 0800 number but they just keep sending faxes anyway. I went as far as telling them I’d charge £17.50 for each fax I receive, yet they carry on. Honestly, the only thing left is to disconnect it because they’re just ignoring the rules by pestering me like this.

Keep an eye out for a company called Sentinel Debt Recovery, they ring from 0800 055 6228. Strange thing was it turned out it was a fax machine sending calls. We got bombarded starting around 12.30 am on the 3rd of Oct 2013, nonstop for over an hour and in the end I had to just pull the phone socket out. This morning I managed to track the origin number, found it was 05603348049. I have no debts so completely pointless. Plus my landline ain’t a fax machine! It’s really frustrating since I’m disabled and have had a few bad falls trying to answer during the night. After I finally got in touch with them, they promised to take my number off their list. Hoping that’s true. Their contact number is 0800 055 6228 if you need to check.

Got a call at 6:10pm on 15/08/2013, picked up and all I heard was this weird bleeping noise, kinda like a fax going through or something. I just ended the call straight away. Someone told me these calls might be automated, just to see if you're home at particular times. Apparently, they sell this info on to call centres so they know when to ring you later.
