6 yearsNumber Ive just seen pop up is 04022255547, wonder who it could be?7 yearsGot a voicemail but it was all in Chinese, so I couldn’t figure out what it was about at all.9 yearsDidn’t answer the call since the number was unfamiliar, and they didn’t bother leaving a voicemail either!9 yearsThis number gave me a ring earlier today. The person said they were doing a check on my computer’s security and claimed they’d spotted some ‘dodgy activity’ linked to my internet use. They warned me that serious trouble could come my way if this wasn’t sorted promptly. They urged me to switch on my PC or laptop and let them ‘sort out’ the internet security issue. Luckily, I’m aware of the risks here. Giving them control means they could access everything on your device - banking info, cherished photos, work documents, you name it. After that, they could hold it all ransom, threatening to delete or share it unless you cough up a hefty sum. PLEASE don’t let these strangers take control of your gadgets! You don’t know who they are, and there’s no way to verify their credentials or company ID. If you’re in any doubt, ring your internet provider directly using the number on your bill. Hopefully this helps someone avoid trouble. π9 yearsI keep answering the phone and there's never anyone on the line. It’s so weird, just silent every time.9 yearsMy mum keeps getting loads of scam calls from people wanting to take over her computer, it's so annoying. The amount she gets is crazy. BT really should be stepping up and blocking these calls, but it seems they just do nothing about it.BT9 yearsGot a ring from 04022 yesterday but BT blocked it right away as spam. These scammers are hopeless really, a shame cos I kind of like messing about with them. Most of the time it’s someone from India pretending to be all Western. If you’re bored, just act like you’re buying it and keep the chat going as long as you can, or chuck the phone down and ignore it. My fave though is telling them off with just two short, blunt words - works a treat.BT9 yearsThe number 04022 called just twice and hung up as soon as I answered. Pretty sure it was just another junk call.10 yearsI answered with hello, but it just ended the call with a robotic goodbye!10 yearsGot a call from them saying we’re the ones getting nuisance calls! Honestly, they nailed it - what a cheek!12 yearsI keep getting calls from this number, but each time I answer, there's just silence on the line. It's quite perplexing, really!Submit Your Own Report (04022)
