We frequently receive a multitude of dubious phone calls, where the caller tends to disconnect before the phone has a chance to ring more than a couple of times, or when it diverts to the answering machine with no message left behind. This leads me to believe that whatever they had to say mustn’t have been of any significance. Then there are the relentless charity calls that just keep on coming. I've reached a point where I've taken to jotting down a handwritten list and sticking it by the phone; any number that crops up from that list is left unanswered, along with “private numbers” and any calls displayed as “unknown”.

They keep phoning me up non stop no matter what time it is. A lot of the time, they claim to be from Get it Cheaper and want to discuss electricity plans. I've told them multiple times to leave me alone but they just won't quit calling.
