I've been getting calls from this number, but whenever I pick up, it’s silent on the other end. Quite baffling, really!

This number has been ringing me loads lately but I just ignore it, if it’s really important they should leave a voicemail. Also, I get loads of calls showing up as local numbers that I don’t know at all. These days, it feels like there’s more scammers than genuine callers, so I rarely pick up anymore. Best thing ive found is to use an answerphone and then choose if you want to call back or not.

every time i pick up, they just drop the call immediately, no one speaks or anything.

My 84 year old grandma keeps getting calls from someone claiming to be "Microsoft," saying our computer has problems. It's really frightening for her! I just wish there was a way to put an end to these scammers!

Got a call at 7.30 in the morning, can you believe it? I never pick up numbers I don’t know but leave an answerphone on for anyone real. This time someone rang, might’ve been this very number, telling me to switch on my computer. I acted clueless, pretending I couldn’t hear properly and didn’t get what he was saying, even told him I don’t own a computer. Guess what? He just ended the call!

Got a call on Facebook warning me about some Microsoft virus hack thing. When I rang them back, they told me to press some letters along with the alt key. I said I couldn’t as I was using a tablet. The guy said he couldn't help with a tablet and said a local tech would call me instead, so I gave them my landline number. Just as I was starting to ask how long it might take, they cut the call. I then switched my tablet off and on, ran a scan, and everything was fine. I got two calls after that; one just said goodbye, the other I ended quickly. The number started with 03920.

I keep getting calls from this number, roughly two times daily. Each time I answer, there’s complete silence on the other end before the line abruptly cuts off. Quite baffling, really!

Got a call from some bloke named Ron who said he was from BT, which I'm not even signed up with - didn’t mention that to him though. He tried telling me there was an issue with my computer, but when I told him I don’t have one, he didn’t seem to know what to say. Ended up getting a bit annoyed and just dropped the call on me. Typical scam call if you ask me!

This number has been ringing me quite a few times recently. The latest was just this morning, 28-09-16 around 8.30am. When I picked up, the person just said "goodbye" and hung up straight away. It sounded like an Indian bloke trying to pretend he was from BT. I told him firmly not to call back again because I'm not falling for any scams.

This number rang me a couple of times but no one said anything. Then today, an Asian bloke claimed he was from BT and said there was an issue. I told him I wasn’t a BT customer and didn’t want to chat, so I just ended the call. Feels worrying that someone less careful might fall for a scam like this.

Got a call from a guy who sounded Asian, called himself Andy. He said there was a problem with my internet and my BT phone line was about to stop working. I told him that I don’t even have BT as my provider and he just hung up on me.

I've received a notification indicating that there's an issue with my internet service, which will lead to a disconnection by the end of the month unless I carry out an update.

Got a call from some muppet claiming there was an issue with my PC. Thought I’d mess about a bit, but the moment I started asking tricky questions, he just cut me off. They really hate it when you don’t play along. Classic scam alert! If you want a bit of a laugh and to waste their time, go ahead, but never trust them or follow their advice. Another dodgy number added straight to my block list!

Cheers for the heads up. I’ve stopped picking up if the number’s unfamiliar. This just proves I’m doing the right thing. It’s really annoying when the phone keeps buzzing with calls you don’t want.

Got calls from 03920 about 9 times within a couple hours. Picked up twice, but all I got was them saying goodbye and then hanging up. Ended up blocking that number. Then suddenly, a call comes through from 3920, without the 0 at the start. Bit odd, if you ask me.

I got a call from some bloke saying he was from BT, telling me my computer was getting hacked whenever I sent emails. I asked him a few questions to check, and he started going on about how BT basically controls everything. I said I’d ring BT myself to see what was going on with this hacking and phishing nonsense, then he just hung up on me! Don’t waste your time picking up - it’s definitely a scam!!!
