8 yearsHas anyone else received a text saying that your HLB card has been credited with RM177.00, urging you to ring a specific number for any questions? I have a hunch this might be a dodgy scam!9 yearsToday, I received a rather disconcerting call from the number 03-76268899. On the other end was a pre-recorded message asserting that I was behind on my loan repayments. The number is stored in my contacts as HongLeong BANK, which raised my suspicions that they might have tampered with the original number in an attempt to deceive unsuspecting individuals. I’ve made it a habit not to engage with calls from banks, particularly those that delve into financial figures or personal information. In my experience, genuine banks never ask for sensitive details over the phone; they always advise us to visit in person for such matters if there’s anything we need to clarify.HongLeong BANK9 yearsI reckon this number is one of those scams looking to steal your cash. Just don’t pick up or bother with it. You could report it to the cops, but don’t hold your breath on them doing much about it.9 yearssomebody rang me saying they were from hong leong bank telling me i owe 3k on a personal loan for 3 months. i didn’t bother listening and just ended the call. total scam, no doubt about it.Hong Leong9 yearsGot a call from a lady who was speaking in Chinese, saying I owe RM50k overdraft and if I don't pay, they'll report me to the police. The scary part is she seemed to know all my details. I just hung up since I don't even have an account with Hong Leong.Hong Leong9 yearsgot a call a moment ago from a lady talking in english but with a chinese accent, saying i owe money on a personal loan from hong leong bank. quite suspicious if you ask me.Hong Leong Bank9 yearsGot a call not long ago with some automated lady talking in bahasa. She mentioned ‘notis’ and ‘hong leong’ right off the bat, so i just cut the call straight away since i’m not with that bank.Hong Leong9 yearsI've been receiving persistent calls from 0376268899 since the 22nd of May, 2017. It was only on the 24th of May that I finally decided to pick up the phone. A pre-recorded female voice greeted me, claiming I had an outstanding payment for a personal loan of RM3+++ and prompted me to press '0' for customer service. I was then connected to a Malay gentleman named Ashraf, who identified himself as being from Hong Leong in PJ. When I expressed that I had never sought a personal loan with them, he somehow rattled off my full name, IC number, address, and mobile number - all spot on! He went on to state they had a copy of my IC and that a loan for RM30,000 had been approved on the 21st of March, 2017, in Penang. He insisted I would need to travel there to resolve the issue as the loan had been sanctioned in that location. I handed the phone to my husband, who promptly terminated the call. We later contacted Hong Leong PJ and were told there was no employee by the name of Ashraf, nor had there been any loan applications made under my IC. Following that, we reached out to Bank Negara and were advised to file a police report, given that these scammers possessed my personal information and a copy of my IC. I urge everyone to remain vigilant if you get calls from unfamiliar numbers!AshrafHong LeongPJPenangHong Leong PJICBank Negara10 yearsWe received a call today as well.
