Around 2pm today, I received a call from a recorded message pretending to be Mastercard. It said a £600 payment was just made overseas using our card and asked me to press One to speak with their office. We don’t even own a Mastercard, so it’s clearly a scam and these callers are up to no good. I reckon this number is dodgy and shouldn’t be trusted. I’ve also looked up other people’s experiences with this number on your site to see if I was right.

I received a call the other day from a chap with an accent typical of the Indian subcontinent. There was a cacophony of background noise, suggesting he was in a call centre. To my surprise, he mentioned my surname as if he had it on file. He purported to be from Amazon Prime and informed me that they intended to debit £37 from my bank account for a subscription I supposedly agreed to. I certainly hadn’t signed up for anything of the sort! When I requested my Amazon Account number to look into the matter further, he insisted that Amazon doesn't use account numbers. The conversation escalated on his side, culminating in him exclaiming, ".....are you daft or what?" before abruptly hanging up on me. Quite the experience!
