They mentioned there were suspicious transactions linked to my account and asked whether I had authorised them. Strangely, she then mentioned the last four digits of my card and my date of birth, which definitely set off alarm bells! She insisted on obtaining my telephone banking PIN, but I refused to provide it. She became quite insistent, mentioning that their office hours were until 5pm and threatening to cancel my telephone banking if I didn't comply. Suddenly, the line went dead. I promptly rang Santander directly, only to find out that my account was completely fine-no transactions or issues at all.
