I got a call from someone pretending to be Halifax Fraud, saying there was suspicious activity on my card and that I’d bought something from AO for £200. When I told them I hadn’t, they said my authentication wasn’t set up properly and said they’d fix it by making a £0 charge to check, then asked me for the code that would pop up. I told them I wasn’t comfortable with that and that I’d end the call and ring the fraud team back from my home phone to sort it. After that, they just ended the call.
