Got a call from someone claiming to be with a fraud prevention unit. Best advice? Just cut them off, block the number straight away, and if you think it’s serious, give your bank a quick heads up. Don’t get caught up in their tricks!

Honestly, it felt like a total scam, nothing to do with Barclays at all.

Got a bunch of calls in like 15 minutes claiming some fraud on my Barclays card... which is nuts cause I've never even had a Barclays card! They just wouldn't stop ringing, so I kept hanging up. After they called me about 6 more times in just a couple minutes, I had to block the number.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Barclays, saying there were loads of dodgy transactions on my account. They even knew my name and where I live, and said someone was trying to update my info through the app. I ended the call quickly and later looked up the number online. Turns out, it seems to be a scam.

It was pretty creepy how believable the person on the phone sounded - they said they were from Barclays fraud team and told me there were some dodgy transactions on my account. They wanted to cancel my card and got me to open the Barclays app and use the pinsentry. Thankfully, I got wary and never shared any info with them.

Utterly untrustworthy bunch, complete wasters of time-best to cut them off.

I received a call from someone who was posing as a representative of the Barclays Fraud Department. They went on about some dodgy transaction linked to my credit card. Honestly, mate, I don’t even have an account with Barclays!

Someone called me saying they were from Barclays fraud team. I told them I’d ring Barclays myself. While on the call, I noticed a strange charge from Deliveroo on my bank app - odd because I haven’t used Deliveroo in ages. They tried phoning me again but I ignored it. Barclays told me the transaction is still showing as pending, so I need to wait until it’s fully processed before I can raise a proper complaint.

Some woman called claiming to be Charlotte Haines from Barclays. She mentioned there were several dodgy transactions on my account and told me to log into my mobile banking app. I said I'd end the call, double-check the number, and then have a look at my account myself. After that, she just ended the call.

Some bloke called me claiming to be from Santander’s fraud team. He told me there was suspicious activity on my card and asked if I wanted to cancel a £350 transaction. I said I wasn’t going to chat any further and that I’d ring up my bank myself to sort it out.

So, this guy called saying he was from Santander's fraud team. He claimed someone had used my card without permission and asked if I wanted him to cancel a £350 transaction. I told him I wasn't comfortable and that I'd rather verify things by contacting my bank myself, then ended the call.

We got a call from this number saying they were from the Barclays fraud department. They already knew our names and some of the numbers on our bank card, and were trying to scam more info out of us. Now they've started texting too, sending links and asking for more personal stuff. Best just ignore them completely!

Got a call from someone claiming to be Barclays fraud department. It was a woman’s voice, sounded quite English but who can trust that nowadays? The call had weird pauses and they obviously knew my first and last name. My advice? Tell them a completely different name and say you don’t have a credit card. Best to just steer clear of these calls.

So, this person rang my wife’s mobile pretending to be from HSBC fraud team. She ended up passing them my number. Then they rang me and weirdly knew my full name, where I live, and even details of my credit card. They said there were three tries to use my card in euros, but something didn’t feel right. I rang my bank straight away and they told me there was no such activity and they hadn’t tried to contact me at all. Definitely a scam!

Got a call from someone saying they were from Lloyds bank, saying there was an attempt to withdraw cash from my account. I told them I'd check online for the number and ring back. They said it was the same as on my debit card, but I knew it wasn't. Then, funny enough, the call got cut off straight away. Definitely ringing Lloyds myself now, bet this was a scam.

Hey, it’s me again from the earlier comment. Just had a chat with the real Lloyds team and they confirmed there’s no unusual activity on my account. So, this number is definitely a scam. The caller came across as very polite and professional, but don’t get tricked. Best to just block the number straight away.
