Got a call from someone claiming to be NatWest’s Fraud Team. They rattled off a bunch of Direct Debits they said were created today. I was pretty sure it was a con since NatWest usually sends texts asking for a simple Y or N on transactions, never calls like this. It was hilarious when the bloke ended the call right after I told him I thought he was a scammer too. Classic!

Got a call from someone claiming to be James at Santander about two suspicious charges, one for £109.99 and another for £0.00. He mentioned my name and the last four digits of my credit card, so I thought it was legit. Then he told me to reply to a text he sent to confirm the fraud. The text was from what seemed like a usual Santander number, telling me to text "653447" to set up Apple Pay on my phone, and to call 0800 028 8103 if that wasn’t right. But after checking, I’m pretty sure that 0800 number isn’t actually Santander.

Watch out! These guys are total con artists. They said they were calling from Virgin Money’s fraud team. Somehow, they sent me a text with a Google verification code that looked exactly like it was from Virgin Money. It was so real I didn’t suspect a thing. Before I could get my card blocked, four dodgy transactions went through. The cops and the fraud department are handling it now.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Halifax bank, knew loads about my son's info and wanted to talk to him. They said they’d send a PIN to his phone and wanted him to read it back. I just ended the call and blocked the number, my son did the same. Then I rang Halifax directly to check as the number sounded familiar and had been on my son’s phone for ages. Definitely a scam, don’t get caught out!

I got a call from someone pretending to be my credit card company, saying there was suspicious activity on my card. It didn’t really sound legit though. When I told him I’d ring the number on my card myself, he said I'd be stuck waiting on hold for two hours but he could fix it quick. Didn’t buy it, so I ended the call and phoned the number printed on my card instead.

Got a dodgy call today from someone pretending to be Barclays fraud dept. The woman had a strong accent, sounded like she was from South London, maybe mixed race, and definitely not legit. Rang me at about 2:49pm trying to say there was an issue with my account. I knew straight away it was a con because the number she called me on isn’t even connected to my bank details. Told her where to go, hung up, and blocked her number quick.

Seriously, do not pick up if this number rings you - it's a proper bank scam. They sound so convincing, but believe me, I got tricked. I struggle with autism and ADHD, so it was tough to keep my guard up. They managed to get into my online banking and even when Barclays sent me a new card, they somehow accessed that too through my account. I felt totally violated. Honestly, just ignore the call and don’t share any information with them.

I got a call from some dodgy bank scammer and didn’t waste time messing about - told him to find proper work and basically told him to jog on. He just laughed and threatened to come round and shoot me, said he knew where I lived. I gave him a mouthful and hung up quick sharp. Got a call today around half 11 from a number claiming to be Barclays fraud team (0345 734 5334). They told me there’d been a dodgy login onto my account from Aberdeen about half an hour earlier. I didn’t buy it for a second and was pretty curt with the caller. Then they said they’d be switching me over to the fraud department before suddenly cutting off the call. Felt like a proper scam to me!

On the 18th of April 2023, I got a call and then another one the day after on the 19th April. When I picked up the first call, the person claimed they were from my bank which sounded pretty convincing. Don’t be fooled by their spiel! After they ended the call, I rang my bank directly using the number from my banking app, just to check, and they confirmed it definitely wasn't their call.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with Barclays trying to pull a scam. Said they were checking security or something like that.
