I got a call from someone claiming to be with the fraud department, saying there was a couple of failed payment attempts on my card. They wanted to know if it was me, then started asking about my birthday and the balance in my bank account. Seemed pretty suspicious to me.

Got a call claiming to be from Halifax fraud team saying a £400 Argos direct debit was going through. They rang me after Halifax had shut for the day. They even knew the last 4 digits of my card. The minute I told them I’d phone my bank first thing on Monday, they just cut off. Could be real but I’m leaning towards a scam.

Just got a call from someone claiming to be the Halifax about my direct debits. They tried to get me to verify my personal info, but I wasn’t falling for it. Rang the Halifax myself and they told me straight up it was a scam.
