6 yearsSome bloke rang up sayin' it was about our electricity contract from another firm. When I told him it sounded like total rubbish, he just cut the call straight away.6 yearssome guy saying hes from opus keeps calling me for days, annoying as hell. he claimed he could offer me better deals. i told him i’m already tied into a contract with opus and he asked for my details. i said, if i’m with opus he should already have my info. i asked him to send me the info by email but he refused. he was still ringing me non stop. now i just hang up straight away or leave the phone off the hook!Opus6 yearsThis number's rung me up three times now, saying they're from EDF and that my contract's about to finish. I've set up a 'safe word' with EDF to spot these kinds of scams, so I asked them for it straight away. Unsurprisingly, they couldn't provide it and then started arguing back with me! They sound proper annoyed, which honestly, is well deserved. It's such a nuisance, especially when we've already got enough on our plates without these dodgy calls.EDF6 yearsGot a call from this really polite bloke with an Asian sounding accent, said he was from Eon. Asked for a password but he couldn’t give me one when I asked. Definitely felt like a dodgy scam attempt to me. Stay clear!6 yearsAs soon as my answerphone picked up, the caller just ended the call on me. I use it to sift through calls, so that was quite telling.6 yearsSome bloke rang up saying he was from British Gas, but his English was really hard to understand and his accent was super thick. He kept going on about one of our business accounts needing to be renewed soon. I asked which one he meant since we’ve got a few, but he totally couldn't follow me. Funny enough, all our accounts with British Gas are still well within their contracts, so he obviously had no clue. Massive pain in the neck!British Gas6 yearssomebody rang me saying they were from british gas, but their english wasn’t great at all - sounded like an indian call centre. they said my contract was ending soon and prices were going to rise. they never told me the address or even asked for my name. then they tried to hand me over to their 'supervisor' to prove they were legit. i don’t recall agreeing to let my contract end (i don’t even have one with bg). if you’re unsure, just ask them to send details by post and end the call.British GasIndia6 yearsJust got a call from some bloke with dodgy English saying he was from my energy company. This time it was supposed to be British Gas, but I've never used them, so obviously they guessed wrong again. These scammers don't seem too clever. I just ended the call straight away. Don’t share any details with these jokers. When I tried calling the number back, it said it was invalid. Typical scammy behaviour.British GasSubmit Your Own Report (0345 712 3155)
