I just ignored the call, so fed up with these muppets trying to scam good folks. Bet they’re from overseas, since our country seems to be an easy mark for these groups. Honestly, I wish their own family got caught up in one of these frauds. Still, it won’t put a stop to them - we really need to track these lot down and lock 'em up. Totally!

BE WARNED!!! Never deal with calls from this number. They’re scammers pretending to be HSBC and are very sneaky about it. Don’t trust the reviews here saying it’s legit - they’re wrong! Just hang up and contact your bank directly. These crooks use some kind of number spoofing trick to make it look like they’re calling from HSBC when they’re not! Always ring your bank on the official HSBC number 707070 to be safe. Don’t fall for this!

Just got hit with an HSBC scam! It kicked off with a text about a PCR test from a dodgy number pretending to be the NHS. They wanted me to input my debit card info and other personal details on a fake webpage. Then, about an hour later, someone phoned claiming to be from HSBC’s Fraud Dept. The bloke started asking all sorts about my payees, daily transfer limits, and how much money was in my account. I ended the call straight away and called the genuine HSBC helpline myself. FYI, HSBC doesn’t usually ring customers on that number. Stay alert!

Watch out, it’s a total rip-off! They claim to be from the HSBC fraud department, but really, they’re con artists. They tell you your bank account’s been hacked and offer to set up a new one for you. After that, they ask you to move money over to the “new” account, but it’s all a trick to steal your cash.

Got a call from HSBC just now, and the guy was really freaked out saying someone had broken into our bank account and tried to make a payment. He said he’d send us a code to text back with ‘Yes’, which apparently would mean ‘No’ on their end. If that didn’t work, he said he’d open a brand new account for us that would be safe. Honestly, I wonder how people like that can even rest easy at night.

Got loads of missed calls from this number today. I think it’s connected to when I foolishly fell for one of those NHS PCR test scams yesterday - I wasn’t paying attention and gave out my debit card info. Luckily, I cancelled the card right away and told HSBC it was a scam. Since they now have both my phone number and email, I’ll have to be extra careful about any dodgy calls or messages going forward.

I had a rather suspicious call from a chap named Simon who didn't inspire much confidence. He claimed there was an issue with my account being compromised. I told him outright that I wasn’t interested in chatting and planned to reach out to my bank directly instead, but I’ll use a separate phone for that. Quite dodgy if you ask me!

Got a call from someone claiming to be from HSBC, using the exact number that’s on their official site. They were really convincing and even knew part of my name and mobile number. The caller warned me about a fake transaction and told me not to bother checking my statements. When I said I’d like to verify my account myself, he warned me that HSBC wouldn’t be liable for any fraud if I waited. I told him I’d call back, but he insisted he would ring me instead - which is odd, because HSBC never ever calls you back! Total scam, be careful!

Got a call from someone saying they're from HSBC about a payment question on my account. Told him I don’t actually have an HSBC account, but he insisted one had been set up using my full name, email, and address. Asked where he was calling from, and he replied ‘HSBC’. Then I asked his name - he said Liam Redrun. When I pushed for their office address, he mentioned HSBC towers in Canary Wharf. I said I wasn’t comfortable going on without some ID proof and that I had a feeling this might be a scam. That’s when he just ended the call.

My daughter, who’s quite vulnerable, got two calls from this number. The first time I heard her talking, jumped in, ended the call, and then rang HSBC myself - they told me they hadn’t called her. When the calls came again, my daughter got wary and passed the phone to me once more. The person on the line told me to check their number on HSBC’s website, but I just Googled it and found this site instead. I told the caller it’s marked as a scam and they just hung up. It’s really worrying because the number looks like an official HSBC one.

I got a call from a bloke with a northern accent who said he was from the HSBC fraud department. He asked for me by name and mentioned the last four digits of my card, saying there was a suspicious charge of around £100 for PrettyLittleThing. He then tried to run me through some security questions. I put him on hold briefly to look up the number, and when I realised it seemed dodgy, I asked him, "Who am I speaking to exactly?" and he ended up cutting the call.

Total con job! This number rang me, and as soon as I heard "Liam from the HSBC Fraud Team," my alarm bells went off! I didn't buy a word he was saying. Instead, I told him I'd call the bank myself. Watch out for this phone number. While it really belongs to HSBC, scammers often fake it to make it look like they’re calling from the bank. They say they’re from HSBC’s fraud department, but that’s a total lie. They tell you someone’s tried to make a new payment on your account and ask you to click a link to log in and put in your info. The website they give you isn’t a genuine HSBC site at all. The woman on the phone calls herself Corina - just be cautious.

I just received a similar call on the 22nd of August, 2020. They claimed that my wife's debit card had some extra payee linked to it. She quickly decided to ring the HSBC support line herself and ended the conversation. Then, they called back, this time a woman who introduced herself as Karina and spoke with a London accent. She got rather irate, prompting my wife to terminate the call once more. After checking in with HSBC, we found out there was no fraudulent activity on our accounts, but they advised us to be vigilant over the next few days.

WARNING This is definitely a convincing phishing attempt! They claimed to be from HSBC's fraud prevention team, saying they were looking into a suspicious payment directed to someone named C Jones and needed to verify my account details. I contacted HSBC directly, and it turns out it's a scam, even though they used a number listed on their official website. Stay vigilant!

I received a phone call from this number earlier today. The caller claimed to be Linda Brooks from the fraud prevention team at HSBC's Northampton branch. She mentioned that someone had tried to set up a new standing order for an individual named C Jones using my telephone banking details just yesterday. To be honest, I found it all rather suspicious, so I decided to terminate the call. Following that, I did receive a text containing a link, which I chose not to click on. I tried ringing the number back, but even then, I remained rather doubtful about whether it was truly HSBC.

I received a call claiming to be from the fraud division of HSBC. The chap had a British accent, which struck me as odd since their fraud team typically has a more refined Indian dialect. The call quality was dreadful, too. Each time I mentioned wanting to disconnect and ring the official number, he tried to keep me on the line, which isn't something the genuine HSBC representatives would do. I decided to hang up and immediately phoned HSBC's main line. They assured me there were no alerts on my account. This leads me to believe that the number I encountered is likely a scammer attempting to frighten individuals into divulging personal information.

A bloke claimed to be Mark Cunningham calling from the fraud department of HSBC. He informed me that there had been a payment made to Argos using my account and was seeking confirmation that I was the one responsible for it. Oddly enough, he recited my account number, which I’d actually closed off several months back. When I requested him to verify his identity by naming the direct debits associated with my account, he promptly hung up. Clearly, this wasn’t HSBC at all.
