03456088888 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 03456088888 👆 is reported as a genuine NHS e-Referral Service number used for booking and rearranging hospital appointments across the UK. However, many users express confusion and concern due to unprofessional correspondence, ambiguous letters often without clear NHS identifiers or local hospital details, and calls about appointments they never made. Some letters have incorrect or foreign-language content, causing suspicion and fears of scams. While the number is legitimate and connected to official NHS systems, the referral and appointment communication process seems prone to errors, poor management, and misdirected messages, leading to anxiety especially among vulnerable recipients. It is strongly advised to verify any appointment claims by directly contacting your GP surgery or local hospital before responding or sharing personal information.

I saw two missed calls on my phone today. Reading the other comments about hospital-related calls, I guess it’s possible given the current situation, but it doesn’t seem too likely since hospital calls usually come from private numbers. Kind of strange really!

This is really odd, coz I saw what others said about the NHS and I'm actually waiting on a hospital appointment myself. But my first thought was ‘scam’ since the text said ‘hey mum, my phone’s broke, here’s my new number.’ I’ve no kids at all, so I just deleted it and blocked the number straight away. And then, the weirdest thing - the number somehow unblocked itself and now I can’t block it again. It even sent the exact same strange message again. Has anyone else had this happen or know what’s behind this?

Getting messages nonstop from this number saying I have an appointment at the local hospital and that they’ll ring me soon. I haven’t visited any doctor in ages, so why would I be sent to a Consultant? Might look like an NHS number but it’s definitely a SCAM! They can call using other people’s numbers, so be careful! 😡😡

Just a heads up, if you're waiting on a hospital appointment or have questions about a referral, it's best to get in touch directly with your GP, the GP surgery, or the hospital itself. They'll be the ones who can really help you out with that stuff.

It ended up being a real NHS number but honestly, they were so unprofessional that I had to double-check it on here.

I got a letter saying my hospital appointment was cancelled and that I needed to call this number to set up another one. But when I contacted the hospital, they said they’d never heard of that service, which apparently operates out of Ashby de la Zouch LE65 1JT. The letter claimed to be from something called ‘The NHS e-Referral Service Team’. Felt a bit fishy to me.

Not a scam, honestly! The NHS app has this section for booking appointments with doctors, hospitals, or opticians. If you’re unable to book through the app, they’ll either ring you from this number or send a letter that includes it. So don’t worry if you get contacted this way.

I've been getting loads of calls from this number about an appointment I never booked. I live well over 200 miles away from Darent Valley Hospital, so there's no way I'd be going there. Feels like a total con to me.

03456088888 sent a letter supposedly from the NHS about setting up an appointment at a nearby hospital. I gave the caller my booking reference and access code. He then asked if I wanted him to forward this to the local hospital. I said yes but was curious if this was a local office or a national central booking line. I was surprised to find out it covered the whole of the UK. Wish I knew the exact address the letter was sent from.

Got this NHS letter on 20th May 2021 but there was no address on it. The letter was written in Gujarati and seemed really fishy. Honestly, I think it might be a scam.

I rang the number and got stuck listening to a message for about six minutes telling me to use the NHS online to reschedule. Eventually, a bloke picked up and said it was an interpreter service, asking which language I needed!!!

Got a letter from this number, it seemed like it was from the NHS at first, but after a closer look I’m pretty sure it’s a scam. Someone older could easily fall for this and get caught out. Someone really should do something about it.

The call centre handling this number has locations in both Kent and Milton Keynes. The letters actually come out of the Milton Keynes branch. If you want details on their whereabouts, the Kent office is pretty open about sharing that info, just make sure to ask which one you mean. And FYI, this is definitely an inbound call centre, not outbound.

Derriford Hospital told me this isn't any kind of scam. A few days after getting an appointment, I got a letter saying it was cancelled. I found it odd, so I called the hospital myself to find out. They confirmed my appointment is still booked, and the letter shouldn't have arrived at all. The whole setup seems really messed up, causing unnecessary stress and confusion. My advice: definitely ring your hospital directly if you get any dodgy letters like this - don’t just assume it’s true.

At first, I thought this might be dodgy since it seemed a bit strange, but after checking it out, everything seems legit. They gave me a letter with a reference number on it. You’ll also need a password, and if you don’t have one, just get in touch with your GP’s surgery and they’ll sort another one out for you. Seems like this is just a new method they’re using nowadays.

So, I got a text saying I’m due at a hospital which totally shocked me, then they said I gotta call back or it’ll cost me £160. Seriously, NHS needs to sort this out since they’ve got our personal info. This is pretty worrying. I even checked the NHS site and the number they texted me matches the one on this page: http://www.nhs.uk/NHSEngland/appointment-booking/Pages/about-the-referral-system.aspx

I got a letter telling me to ring a number to book an appointment. When I called, the person said there weren’t any appointments left but strangely seemed to know personal stuff about me and asked for even more information. I asked if the call centre was based in the UK, and the bloke got a bit defensive and asked why I wanted to know. That made me feel uneasy, so I cut the call short. I then got in touch with the admin at my local GP’s office, who was pretty confused that I couldn’t book an appointment. Now I’m worried someone might have access to my medical details.

Watch out, this is a total scam! They somehow got hold of my personal details, even my NHS number. But my hospital says they’ve never booked me any appointment. Also, this letter came from Milton Keynes, which is miles away from where I live in East Sussex. The letter looked really odd and suspicious. Luckily, I didn’t ring the number and decided to verify first! My advice: don’t call back the number on the letter. Instead, get in touch directly with your hospital to confirm things!

It's the helpline for scheduling appointments at medical facilities. You’ll know it’s the right number if you've been referred by your doctor to see a specialist-it's essential to arrange your appointment through them.

Got a letter that looked like it was from the NHS, something about an App Line, with an address at Sunrise Parkway in Linwood, West East, Milton Keynes. But the weird bit was it was written in what I reckon was Punjabi. Seems dodgy to me since you'd rarely get official letters in a foreign language here. Feels like a scam.
