At first I was sure it was a scam because I had a scam call pretending to be from HSBC the day before, from another number. Plus, I had reported some fraud a few days earlier so I had to check three times, but this one’s definitely genuine.

Answered what I thought was a random call from 0117 410 1924 and got put straight through to this number. Hung up right away. Feels dodgy, definitely not from Bristol and absolutely no links to HSBC.

Totally a scam. They rang me up saying they were from the HSBC Fraud dept. When I said I’d ring HSBC to check, all they did was insist ‘Just google the number, it’s definitely HSBC’. Banks don’t do that - they’d want you to call them directly. They sound clever though, almost got me but I know better with these cons.

I rang HSBC with the number on the back of my card to check if 03456081878 was really a HSBC number. Turns out, it is. It's their fraud team. Apparently, there was a notice on my card stopping me from using it, but once I verified a few recent purchases, they removed the block.

someone rang up saying they needed to talk about my account. i felt uneasy straight away... they kept pushing and sounded annoyed when i kept saying no thanks. should’ve ended the call immediately. maybe it was hsbc, but it didn’t sound right or professional. i know hsbc say they don’t cold call about accounts, so be cautious. my advice? block the number like i did.

Scam alert! I saw a missed call from 03456081878 but didn’t pick up as it was an unknown number. Later I got a voicemail asking me to ring 03456008055 urgently about some fraud on my HSBC account. Instead of calling that number back, I phoned HSBC’s official number and asked to speak with Fraud. They told me nobody had tried to contact me. Both numbers didn’t show up on their records. If you need to contact HSBC, always use the numbers listed on their official site. Don’t fall for these scammers. They even post fake glowing reviews here to trick people. Stay cautious out there!

Today, I got a rather unexpected call from HSBC Business concerning a hefty payment I'd made to a new beneficiary. They sounded rather worried about the transaction and suggested I ring a particular number back. Naturally, I was a bit taken aback by this and felt it necessary to dig a little deeper into the situation. To put my mind at ease, I reached out to my relationship manager, who reassuringly confirmed that the number is indeed authentic and is used by the HSBC payments team for follow-ups.

Got a few missed calls from the HSBC fraud team. My HSBC credit card was blocked 'cause apparently someone tried to spend almost £1000 in 3 separate transactions. Luckily, they got flagged as suspicious and didn’t go through. This time it really was HSBC’s fraud department calling. I didn’t pick up because I didn’t know the number, but I got in touch with them via my banking app instead. They told me they had called and put a hold on my account because of a suspicious charge from the States. My card got declined yesterday and I was puzzled. They’ve now lifted the block on it.

They claimed to be from first direct's fraud prevention team. Didn’t bother using my name or even check who they were speaking to, which a real company would definitely do. It all felt a bit fishy, so I told them to send a letter to the person they wanted to reach - if legit, they’d have the proper name and address. They confirmed it was legit, so I called back and turns out they were just checking on a payment that seemed dodgy but was fine. Better safe than sorry, I guess! :)

Got a call from this number shortly after I used my card at a quaint little café. It turns out they rang me because my initial attempt to enter my card information was declined, but it went through on my second go. Subsequently, they froze my card and halted the payment, but once I confirmed it was really me, they reinstated my card and processing continued without a hitch. I decided to reach out to the HSBC Fraud Team afterwards, just to verify that it was indeed them who had reached out, and they confirmed it. Hats off to HSBC for their attentiveness and for ensuring my transaction was secure!

I got a legit call from HSBC, saying they were ringing on behalf of M&S Bank. When I rang back the voicemail number, they asked me some security questions and then explained the call was about a payment they’d blocked. I was glad they got in touch because it looked like someone tried to take more money from my account after a purchase I made myself. The caller said it was HSBC then switched to M and S bank. They left a message saying there was some urgent issue with my credit card being used yesterday - which definitely didn’t happen.
